Our entire fucking transfer strategy is just opportunistic market “cut price” bollox, signing players one or sometimes TWO managers late, building no sort of coherent squad or playing style, just something the spreadsheet deems to be a “bargain”.

Gallagher will turn us down I’m sure, because he’s a serious player, and maybe we’ll stumble into an actual passer. But make no mistake, it won’t be because of any prior planning or brilliance, it’ll be pure dumb luck.
 
The season is over. The biggest and best signing we can make now is a serious director of football and give him complete autonomy over all playing staff matters.

No more of this CEO and/or Chairman making hiring and firing or recruitment decisions. Put proper structure in place before trying to patch up the squad. Appoint a DoF, and give him a budget then butt out. Let them set the direction and a remit to sign players which match the manager and the manager after and the manager after. We've got too many chefs right now, and the only qualifications they've got is the stars they earned working at McDonalds.

There aren't many big name players who would come here. Obvious problems in the league etc, but they'll know Frank is under serious pressure and likely to be sacked, then what for them? They're not going to sign with so much uncertainty, or least they shouldn't if they had brains.
