You’ve not watched Bassey closely if you think that mate. I know you are not a fan of VDV but they are not comparable in any way.

No probs mate.

It's just an opinion and whether it is tinged with a sense of frustration or anger towards Van De Ven, I just don't think he merits as much adulation as he receives, Europa clearance aside.

Either way,not our biggest issue although more respect to manager and fans would not go amiss.

My opinion (the one I have come to) is that Bassey is no less capable than Van De Ven.

I think he will soon be courted by bigger teams than Fulham, with due respect to them, and in some regards would serve us better than Van Der Ven, who relies on his pace far too much and is a poor passer of the ball.

Whether the issue is that he doesn't play alongside someone who tells him where to play or whatever, but for me Van De Ven has a long way to go before he is anywhere as good as posters on here believe.

And most definitely not world class

He's incredibly physical and 1v1 he can shut players down but he isn't good with this feet and struggles to play out from the back, bigger teams aren't touching players like that, the height of his career will be Fulham.

I get that some will be annoyed by the blanking of the manager and arguing with fans but guys like Micky has desire to win always and his frustration has taken over and I get that. We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors and to be honest there will be players that are hating how we are set up and play and that can lead to some of the issues we’ve seen. That’s what happens in dressing rooms.
I personally think Micky is irreplaceable and we need him if we are going to progress. I think the manager has to be changed because firstly his tactics are hurting us and secondly I think his demeanour is deflating and demotivating players.

Not so sure.

The fact he also opened up about the Europa tactical changes makes me feel as though he has an inflated opinion of himself.

As for irreplaceable, that was Kane and Son.

A Terry, Vidic or Carragher alongside Van De Ven -type would teach him a lot.

Nonsense.

How does he manage to find himself in the England team despite being crap when England have an abundance of full backs they could pick over him?

The guys a talent and he needs a manager to refine his skillset. If someone like Poch worked with him for example you'd see how good he is.
He offers less than Emerson did attacking wise

And barring a major injury crisis in the fullback positions , he won't play a minute in a match against a proper team , not a Kazakhstan or Andorra

Emerson played as a wing back, Djed has been used as a full back, not sure how you can compare?

And the realty is that he's been called up to an England squad which have the best full back options in world football, that's no mean feat, Tuchel has also given him a few caps in qualifiers as well, he clearly rates him.

Sassuolo’s emerging centre-back Tarik Muharemović has rapidly become one of the most sought-after defenders of the winter transfer window, turning heads across Europe with his impressive performances in Serie A.
At just 22 years old, the Bosnian international has developed into one of Italy’s most consistent young defenders this season and the continent’s top clubs have taken notice.

Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are all monitoring the defender closely as they assess long-term options to reinforce their back lines, sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside.

Meanwhile, Serie A heavyweights Inter and Juventus are keeping the door open for a potential move, with Juve having additional incentive due to a key clause in Muharemović’s contract.

From the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig have prepared a bid worth €25 million plus bonuses, signalling the seriousness of their intent.

Two reasons Spence has looked bad this year. Firstly, he is not a left back. Opponents have worked out that if he is pressed quickly he has to pass back to VdV. We look much more balanced with Ben Davies at LB. Secondly, his main asset (offensively) is his pace and aggressive running. He showed glimpses of this last year when helped by Ange's inverted FB system. However, he cannot do this effectively on the left in Frank's system, and when he has played on the right with Kudus there is no point overlapping as you will not get the ball, and then Kudus has no security when he loses it.

As a 1 vs 1 defender Spence is very good, and if we were playing Woolwich tomorrow I would want him marking Saka.

Offensively he needs coaching. His pace and power on the right flank could become a real asset.

Tottenham eyeing Serie A star as Guglielmo Vicario’s replacement

According to AS Roma Live, Spurs could turn to the Serie A to find Vicario’s successor in the near future.

The report says that AS Roma’s Mile Svilar is admired at the North London club as well as other Premier League sides.

Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United have all scouted the Serbian at various points this season as his stock continues to rise.

Yildiz and Wharton for me as a dream ending to the window. Not likely, I know.

Samu in the summer.

Vicario / Kinsky

Spence / Porro
Romero / Vuskovic
Van de Ven / Danso
Udogie / Souza

Gallagher / Sarr
Wharton / Bergvall

Kudus / Kulusevski
Maddison / Simons
Yildiz / Odobert

Samu / Solanke

Doubt we’ll be in Europe. This should be good enough domestically.

Get rid of Dragusin, Bentancur, Richarlison.

Don’t bother with Palhinha and Muani.

Loans for Gray and Tel.
Yes to Yildiz and Wharton...would be immense.

Samu is unconvincing.

Vicario needs to go. As do Kinsky, Porro, Udogie, Romero, Bentancur, Solanke...maybe even Djed...enough of the temperamental dickheads, injury-prone's etc.

Say what you want about Pally, but he is a team player who always gives 110%.

Top players usually have a high opinion of themselves to be fair. Having an old school experienced defender next to him would take him to even higher levels but he’s our leader in the squad. At games he’s the vocal one, plays by example and he’s the one that takes it upon himself to drive us forward. He shouldn’t be the one that has to drive us forward but he’s does. Thats a leader.

Okay.

I don't see Van De Ven as a leader.

We will have to just disagree.

It’s a crap opinion. The fact that everyone is laughing at you and you don’t even give it a 2nd thought says a lot.

And yet it’s VdV who has the arrogance.
