Kudus is our most potent threat currently, richarlison isn't a particularly good striker and isn't a particularly good winger.

Johnson, not technically adept. How did we miss that.

Solanke. Obviously not elite even before we bought him .

And yet, Johnson and richarlison are /were some of our top goalscorers vs Tel who is another French young talent who is yet to take off

My point is, buying from the Premier League for big money isn’t some cast iron guarantee that the player’s gonna be any good. On the contrary you’re probably gonna overpay for the level of ability. For every single one of those players I mentioned, we could’ve gotten a much superior player on the continent for the same or less.

And I include Kudus in that, he’s only our most potent attacking threat cause the rest are absolutely shite. There’s nothing I’ve seen from him so far that suggests he’s a top drawer player.

The reason we buy from the Premier League is cause we’re lazy and shite at scouting. And we’ve had this notion that because Ndombele and Lo Celso were bad, that buying expensive players outwith the Premier League is too big a gamble, which is a total fallacy, as our success rate buying within the Premier League isn’t any better.

It all comes down to scouting, and we’re ridiculously bad at it.

Although CJJ CJJ , having done some googling, I do actually have to hold my hands up, he was at Everton last season too apparently? I thought he only signed in the summer.

I'll refrain from sarcastically pointing out that he can't have been all that impressive though if I had no idea he existed...

I wasn't really counting his 1 appearance or something before, I did mean for Everton.

He was one of the only decent players in that team last season and did stand out. Nearly 1 goal every 3 games

Our club can afford Marmoush's salary. At some point in the future it's going to have to reach the £300,000 per week salary demand. I read the other day the revenue is £660m or there about on the Forbes website.

It's about time the club pushed the boat out and justified the ticket prices. It doesn't mean all players need to be on that salary but if we want someone like Marmoush/Isak, that's what it's going to cost.

The club can afford to sign him and pay his salary, was the context of my post that you responded to, the goons are paying quite a few players over £200k per week, and they are in a similar financial position to our club.

Got it, I wasn't as informed on him as I thought I was.

Despite that, I still find some of the comments on him as though he's the second coming of Luis Figo to be way ott.
