Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

True but we also have to consider we have Maddison and Kulusevski that can play in the number 10 position as well and whilst we have neither at the moment, we could have 4x10s once they're back.

£40-£50m is a lot for a square peg in a round hole long term.

Don't get me wrong I'd definitely rather that than nobody in the position we find ourselves in but think Diaby loan makes more sense for overall squad situation long term.

Let's see what happens
We also have Gallagher as a battling 10, something I think Frank would probably prefer - as well as Frank having played Bergvall there a fair bit too

Two players that would never come here.
This mentality is grim. We're not West Ham or Bournemouth. So many Spurs fans are resigned to thinking that this is our level because of decades of neglect from ENIC.

We're one of the richest clubs, with one of the best stadiums and training facilities in world football, in the best league and in one of the most desirable cities in the world. There is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be able to attract the best players.

The only thing that is stopping us is this "new" ENIC. But if they started offering more players Xavi Simons-level salaries and paying £70m on quality players instead of £35m on Conor Gallaghers then we'd be competing for trophies and finding it easy to get that calibre of player in.

I think Sterling is an example of a player - much like John Stones a few years ago - where a player falls out of favour and suddenly becomes thought of as a total washout, yet if they move to another club and play regularly that would be forgotten.

On a decent, sensible wage on a 6-18 month type deal, I'd rather Raheem Sterling with a point to prove (e.g. WC) over Muani, or probably a Lookman type player that has no credible history of performance in this league

Correct. This pauper mentality is Stockholm syndrome from years of being abused by ENIC. A club of our size, sitting where we are in the league, but still in a strong position going into the latter stages of the Chanpions League should be going hell for leather trying to get at least one big signing in.

Leao is the level of player we should be going for, pay him enough money and he’ll come. If you have to pay £80m to Milan for him, so be it. Half of that fee is offset by the CL money anyway. It won’t happen though, we’ll get Sterling and we’ll be told to be happy about it.

I said it at the time, getting back into the Champions League was our get out of jail free card for the last few years of mismanagement on the playing front. It should have made it a lot easier to attract top players and and a top manager in the summer. Instead we got Kudus, Palhinha and the fucking Brentford manager.

I want us to stay up. I don't honestly care what that translates to in relation to who we sign.

Posters need to get to grip with that start fact before they worry about who comes in.

The squad as it is could go down.

If we get the necessary points we get the necessary points. The time for the future comes once survival has been guaranteed.

as bleak as this sounds it really is the reality we find ourselves in at the moment.
Given the run of fixtures it’s sure to get worse before it gets better.
We need a lift and some league points ASAP

John Duran and Lookman. Telling me they wouldnt get into our team?
Yup. Lookman is a stop gap. I'd rather expose odobert and Tel who are certainties to be better players than lookman in 2 years time. Odobert in the last few games already looks like he could be a similar level.

Duran no better than Solanke and Richarlison and potentially has the attitude of kolo muani. We don't need more of them

I wonder if people actually mean this when they say it, the amount of I'm done's and final straws I keep hearing about, I mean what does it actually mean anyway, are you done watching Spurs? Are you done for the day? Are you done in this thread? The mind boggles...😆
Probably more like one of your periodic absences Shady.

When the weight of being remorselessly contrary gets you down and you have to log off for a few weeks to recharge and rediscover your groove.
