Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

OK so your happy being 17th if the club don't win the league.

No wonder you think the squad is so great if that's your expectation because we ain't winning no league.

We're as bad as Crystal Palace except the trophy they won was against better teams, I wonder if there's someone on their forum listing the squad saying how good it is, and they don't want to be 2nd, they're equally as happy being 17th.

Crumbs.

No, of course not happy with 17th and watching my team lose every week. It was exceptional circumstances last season with the worse injury crisis any premier league club has ever seen - and it seems to have been repeated this season.

But, if you are in a shit situation with only 11 senior players fit, you have to pick your battles. Prepare for 7 games spread out over 3 months to win the Champions League; or kill yourself every single week trying to finish 6th?

I would say that the odds of Spurs winning the champions league are higher than a top 6 finish.

We are absolutely criminally mismanaged team.
Everyone at the top of club and sporting roles deserve to be sacked on the spot. Quite frankly all of them would deserve a relegation... to League Two.

With all that talk that actually did address the real issues. And then still to totally ignore the issues this squad is facing. Absolutely pathetic.

Over the period from 01.01-02.02.2026 in this squad EVERY PART of the squad (except for GK) became weaker.
All the while results in the EPL are shockingly poor and at the same time we secured place in top16 of CL.

This is a new low. With some margin to spare.
I remember the period when no one came in. But we were not on the back of 17th place finish and standing 14th in the table with 2 wins from last 15 league games (!).

I love the club and I only wish us to win always and everything. But some people could really use a shocking punishment of surprise relegation. Cause this is what we are planning for unfortunately.

Just one flaw: if we keep finishing low down the table, we won't be in any European competitions.

The last time that happened Spurs were able to rebuild the squad and finished 5th - would have been higher had (once again) the entire defence not been injured. Remember Emerson Royal / Ben Davies at CB, with Ausin in goal :)

Europe next season does now seem unlikely.

After 25 years of Levy, do some of you honestly think this window would have been any different if he was still in charge? If anything, he would have demanded £50m for Johnson and we'd have missed out on Gallagher as a result.

17th or 2nd.You still lost. Better to finish 17th and lift a trophy, than 2nd and lift nothing.

Winning the champions league is now this seasons aim.

Not been in this thread today as clearly from what I was picking up elsewhere, no point as nothing was happening. Yes January window is difficult and apart from MC very little business done. However we are very short on numbers and I can only think the hierarchy have written off this season, thinking they have enough to escape relegation but not enough to win CL or qualify next season. Whether Frank lasts the season is debatable.

Next season we will have our long term injuries back and we have a couple of Loanees that should be in the squad and with no Europe keeping the squad happy will be the main problem rather than having 11 fit players. In the Transfer market we must go for quality and not quantity and anyone bought must be an automatic first choice. Changing the GK and a forward that scores lots of goals being the highest priorities.

A very disappointing window.
And Poch !!

Would we really have not been able to afford Gallagher unless we sold Johnson? What's been happening to all those huge revenues that have been reported then???

Did you forget about the experienced ex Chelsea captain that we signed?

The squad is full. Spurs cannot add foreign players. There was possibility of 2 home grown spots only, but who is going to join without an assurance of playing in Champs League?

The only candidate to be sold in this window was Bissouma, but he is probably more useful playing for us than gambling on a replacement.

Gallagher, Dragusin go into champions league squad. Tough call on Tel vs Bissouma.

Of course, Sterling is still an option as he is a free agent and, fits the home grown list. At this stage in his career, is he more useful than a hungry, keen to impress Tel?

Overall, Spurs have had 2 very good transfer windows now and are building a very very good young squad.
Fuck off troll 👉

they are printing money and it has nothing to do with football. why would they invest or sell?
because we're increasingly dicing with relegation which would be a huge problem. The drop off in financials wouldn't stop the money coming in but it would decrease it significantly. The costs of the stadium aren't going to go away. The TV revenue plummets, and the wages suddenly leap up in the % of turnover to outgoings....glancing at Wolves who seem to have relied on the method of selling without reinvesting on the premise they'll do just enough to stay up has finally come home to roost, and we're not immune to that scenario playing out. It's that arrogance from ENIC that has seen this club go from CL finalists to a long running joke.
