This issue is important and needs to discussed sensitively with due ( no pun intended) regard to everyone’s point of view .

I’ve only just seen this clip ( see below) where David Baddiel ( who’s far from stupid ) states that he refers to himself as “ a Jew “ because he sees it as a “ reclamation “ : given that , according to him , in a “ Anglo-Christian culture it has a burial as a bad word “ (sic) .

Now I’ve never considered the word as a bad word ; but if Baddiel thinks so and feels he’s somehow
detoxifying it by reclaiming it and by using it to describe himself on Twitter . Then why shouldn’t he support anybody or any group of people who are doing the same thing ? ( ie in turning a “ bad “ word into a “ good “ word .

That’s the thing : Baddiel has gone over the top (repeatedly) on his rejection of religion and the beliefs attendant to it . He completely doesn’t stand by those kind of things .

He’s a self-proclaimed vigorous atheist, as is his right : and anybody else’s for that matter .

For some reason it’s all about tribalism , genetics and skin-colour in a God-less universe for him . As I see it .
