Apart from Kane who has dragged us for years, Son, Ndombele who is techically gifted, Toby and a few others, this squad is bang average. There's so much deadwood at this club that are simply average and aren't good enough for a club trying to reach top 4 and beyond.

Lamela needs to go
Sissoko needs to go
Winks needs to go
Dier needs to go
Sanchez needs to go
Lo celso needs to go
Moura needs to go
Davies needs to go
Aurier needs to go

No way Lo Celso should be on that list, we need more guys like him not getting rid of him.

These players just lost, and for the most part got dominated, to a team consisting of Dan Burn and Solly March.

Something tells me it isn't just the players.....

I did forget dele. To be honest I would still retain him purely because he's a raw talent and the quality is there, its just unfortunately he is too busy shagging high end escorts to care about football. Such a waste of a life eh?
George Best - "I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered."

Lo Celso is a quality top level player, his issue has been injures. Aurier, Winks, Davies and Lucas are fine for back up squad players. I’d sell the others if I could.

Fucking about on luxury holidays, work almost never, drive expensive cars, get in to exclusive events, rub elbows with the elites of society, and shag high end escorts....

Wasted life, indeed!

:harrylol:
You can imagine the George Best like scene....
Dele, sandwiched between Ruby Mae and Megan, in a luxury hotel in Knightsbridge, Cristal bottles strewn about the floor. Something happens and the alarm goes off and the poor security guard goes up to the room. Seeing Dele and the ladies he looks down with a sad look.
"Dele, where did it all go so wrong....?"

These players got Pochettino sacked and are close to getting Jose sacked. They are an embarrassment and should be no where near a club with Top 4 ambitions.

I would be good with just about all of this list leaving (I'd take Lo Celso off). I think the problem is we need to, at least, get rid of MOST of them. If a couple of them stay and occasionally rotate through the squad, fine. But we end up with too many games where a lot of them are on the pitch together, and THAT'S the problem.

If Dier (or whomever) is on the squad and plays occasionally, fine. But when we have a squad with Sanchez AND Davies AND Sissoko AND Moura AND Lamela on the pitch, it puts too much pressure on the remaining few actually good players to carry the team.

Disagree with almost the whole list opening poster has posted.
Most of them are our back-ups, and proven good level back-ups.

The problem is we are picking our forwards based on defensive ability.
Playing a back 5 and completely giving up the whole centre field.
Ostracised players that could give us a spark
Play in defensively conservative way forcing more pressure on the defence, when our squad is built with attacking players, but not being utilised properly.
Players are too frightened to do anything positive for fear of making a mistake
Atmosphere in dressing room is obviously at lowest levels it has ever been, and can you blame the players with what has been done to Rose, Dele and now Aurier. I am sure there is plenty more at the training ground also.

We need a new manager now, let off handbrake, release the fear factor, go to 4-2-3-1, and for a change attack.

Our first team and squad is more than talented enough. Our second string is good enough to be where we are in the league if they had a decent manager.

We just need to rid ourselves of what is probably the biggest mistake in Spurs history apart from Scholar saying "I have a good idea what to do with Spurs money"

If we are to sell anyone in the summer, it needs to be those that are either not going to improve at this stage of their careers, earn too much money for returning very little or those who aren't good enough to where we need to end up going.

That pretty much leaves:

Paulo Gazzaniga - He's just taking up a valuable foreign spot in the squad really. He's third choice, at best he could be second choice but not worth it. Get a few million for him and move him on for the good of his career.

Davinson Sanchez - Hasn't developed to how we'd have liked. Should sell him before his value continues to dwindle. Rodon seems to be the young centre back we aim to develop so getting rid of Sanchez and bringing in a commanding centre back seems to be the logical choice.

Serge Aurier - Year left on his deal in the summer. Don't think we'll offer him a new deal and right back is a position we need to upgrade on in the summer. Raising funds will be crucial.

Danny Rose - This one goes without saying.

Moussa Sissoko - It's time to move on. 2 years left on his deal in the summer, this'll be the time to cash in on him. Never going to improve and doesn't offer enough.

Erik Lamela - Same as others, not going to improve, too much money for him to be a squad player or sit in the injury room. 29 this year. Thanks for the memories Erik, to some you are a cult hero but we need a bit more from our bench. Will have a year left on his contract.

Lucas Moura - I'd be amazed if he stays beyond the summer. Another one who is going to be 29 in the summer and another who is a cult hero for that night in Amsterdam but really doesn't offer anything. Like Lamela, a passionate player who loves the club but we need to move them on.

I don't even think that lot will bring in a lot of money tbh. But that opens up 6 foreign spaces in our squad list, gets rid of some of the last remaining Pochettino squad players to really move on to rebuilding something special.

Promote one of Whiteman/Austin to 3rd choice goalkeeper behind Lloris and Hart. And then start the scouting process next season for Lloris' eventual replacement.

Sign an exciting right back in the mould of Reguilon to replace the outgoing Aurier and then start the scouting process for an up and coming promising right back to sign the following year to replace the outgoing Doherty.

A commanding centre back to come in and hopefully give us the leadership and control we need back there. No idea who that could be. Let's just hope it's the right one.

Long term target Sabitzer comes in to replace Sissoko. Alot more quality in there. Good engine with the ability to actually play football.

Skipp is also then brought into the squad to beef out that midfield anymore and to save us some millions in adding more depth.

Bale and Vinicius are both sent back to their parent clubs and we sign a wide forward who is capable of playing out wide as well as up top when we need to rest Kane - this moves Bergwijn into the Lucas/Lamela role of back up wide forward.

The only one on that list I’d argue for is Lo Celso who can be afforded more time as a new-ish arrival.
The rest I would have to agree with you.

the problem we are going to face is that no clubs are willing to buy at the moment due to financial constraints, and that players will be happy to sit on their contracts.

we may have to pursue the approach that Woolwich have taken, just offer them some money to fuck off and then promote some academy players.

The cycle of this team is done. It's sad but for the long term, we should sell Son & Kane and use the profit toward rebuilding....with young, potential players for the new start of the cycle. I believe it's going to be a win-win for all.
