Whatever... stop looking up games and answer the very simple question ive tried getting you to answer but for some reason you refuse to. Its not PMQs. Its a fucking simple question but let me try one last time.

League position... where do you think we finish?
League cup... what round?
FA cup... what round?
Champions League.... what round?

I cant put it any simpler?
6th? 7th?

LC - probably as far as we avoid top 4
ditto FA cup

CL I dont even know the format. I'll let you know when we see the draw for the group stage. Fair enough?

btw - going back to the poor line ups that Ange had to pick from: I do remember being at home to Ipswich with pretty much a full team and losing 1-2. Which I'd even forecast 3 days earlier as it was obvious to anyone with eyes that McKenna is streets ahead of Ange as a manager.

Now - who did you prefer to get over Frank?

That Ipswich game was in November. Hardly last 12 but seeing as you brought it up... that was the moment I was sure Ange was out of his depth. Leicester away opening game of the season I started to think he wasn't going to work out but that Ipswich game cemented it. I hope we can finish 6th but I cant see it. The CL is same format as last season if that helps.

So on to your question. I'd be delighted to share who I would have prioritized over Frank and I'll even put them in order

Oliver Glasner - Proven winner
Francesco Farioli - Ajax late collapse was shocking but he plays progressive football and I expect him to do extremely well at Porto. Teams will be sniffing around him next summer.
Eden Terzic - stroppy fucker but knows how to manage a big club and took Dortmund to 2024 CL final
Roberto De Zerbi - His Brighton team were easy on the eye and Marseille finished 2nd behind the juggernaut PSG in Ligue 1. Even made Højbjerg look like a proper six.
Kieran McKenna - love the Spurs connection. Tried playing football with Ipswich but faced impossible task. I've backed them to win Championship this season and I suspect he will be looking for a move to bigger club.

It's hard to believe that the Frank bashing has started already..the season hasn't started and the naysayers are already out in force...let's see what's going on at Xmas before getting stuck in..as far as I'm concerned, anyone is an improvement on the last clown...to paraphrase Lennon/ Ono, "Let's give [Frank] a chance...

Must admit when he hired poch i was excited. Frank im genuinely not sure. Hope he does really well for us. Allardyce and pardew are saying hes a great signing for us. But then i think thats allardyce and pardew. Lets see.

Yes would have been a good choice, he's won something and in Europe too. Do you think he was ready to move? He's only been there a short time, and seems a decent type who would give a bit more loyalty to the club that gave him an opportunity in the PL.

Don't know him

ditto

Played great footie in the PL with BHAFC. But if you're looking for some stability, I don't think he's the one. If he achieved good things here, I would expect him to tart himself in front of Barca Real PSG. Realistically him and Levy would be a marriage made in hell. We'd be looking for a new manager again very soon imo.
If he'd had a better season in the PL then maybe. But still quite a risk. And I get the idea he'd have been loyal enough to Ipswich to stay longer.

Personally I'd value good experience in the PL more than anything. Frank's had 4 seasons now. 3 good ones and one poor one where he lost Toney and had a load of injuries. That's more than the guys at CP, BHA and AFCB who are the obvious other over achievers. He also looks more versatile tactically than most. Played expansively in the EPL and top scorers there. On the break in the PL with the 2nd lowest wage bill. And the lowest of all the clubs that didnt get relegated.

He ticks so many boxes I just don't get the hate here.

I don't hate Frank. Just wasn't my first choice. Glasner was and he absolutely would have moved. Come on... Palace or Spurs. Its not even a choice he would need to think about. If good experience is a requirement why not Moyes. Arguably achieved more than Frank at Everton with even less than what Frank had at Brentford. Also, it is a complete myth that Frank plays front foot expansive football. Hes a pragmatist who values versatility depending on opponent. So far we have looked anything but expansive in pre season. Fine if we get results but its not going to be easy on the eye. To be honest I'm ok with that so long as we are winning.

We simply dont have the players to be expansive, especially with our 2 no 10s crocked. This ultimately cost Postecoglou, thinking we could out football everyone with some pretty limited players. We over compensated by just throwing bodies forwards neglecting every other aspect of the game. When we changed for Frankfurt and Bodo away we looked a semi competent side. I think it could be a tough watch this season but thats not Franks fault, we just dont have the talent.

Don't disagree with this take.

The idea that Moyes, at one of the grand old clubs of English football, had fewer resources than Frank at Brentford who are an actual bona fide minnow is ludicrous sorry.

Moyes continually broke Evertons record transfers which seems small now but we're talking between 20 and 13 years ago now.

Everton haven't been a grand old club for 25 years... theyve been on the bones of their ass for most of them 25. Yeah he broke the transfer record but its semantics. He kept bad Everton sides competitive whilst having to sell his best players every season.

it was a bit more than that re Ange. He didn't make the most of what he had. Not by a long shot. Players got worse under him. He showed with Bodo, EF and Man U that we could grind out results. But refused to do it most of the time as he'd dug himself into a ludicrous "it's who we are" hole.

It feels like he’s happy to make the most of what he’s got.
Whilst that is admirable, it’s simply not enough & hopefully behind the scenes, he’s pushing for incomings.
