Judging managers on pre-season results is honestly one of the stupidest things i can think of.

Possible Frank is a disaster. Possible he's the best manager we've ever had. A pre-season friendly against Bayern tells us fuck all about either possibility. Same as the one against Woolwich told us nothing. I don't even think the Super Cup will be telling.

At least let the games count before we hold him to the fire.

Deer in headlights springs to mind. Needs to be calling for experienced signings. NEEDS to be putting light pressure on the board at this point. So far those who called Frank for being a "cheap option" in re-evaluating a weak squad were absolutely right.

Frank needs full backing but the cycle seems to have almost certainly started again.

At this point there really isn't anyone else other to blame than the fanbase - despite being hugely critical of the ownership and Levy for the past 5/10 years my blame now increasingly goes to those basement dwelling, like thirsty cucks who seem to beg for this groundhog day shyte we go through continually.

Players clearly down about Sonny.

That's why there was an energy slump.

Like he said, he's still learning about the players.

How they respond under pressure, after loss (in this case), when they have a team pulsing attacks at them non-stop and properly crowding them out in the first phase.

He's got a lot to sift through before he can shape things as he wants and build in his corrections and form a cohesive, effective unit.

Will also need time to work on players individually and set them progress parameters to develop their game more.

It's a huge job to get everything in place and he's gonna need time.

It's just how it goes, folks.

Ok, look forward to chatting to you after Burnley. Its amazing how many on here think some magic switch will be flicked before Burnley game. We are a fucking shambles and Burnley probably can't wait to get stuck into us.

3 days after the super cup hiding so we'll be a wounded animal going into that game. Burnley will park the bus and say let's see what you got. Very dangerous game now.

I really fear for Frank if that first game is a goaless draw. He might not even get the honeymoon period that all the others got.

Maybe a hiding by PSG followed by a 0-0 draw to Burnley is what we need though. Just lowers all expectations for the season, and maybe it becomes a free roll for Frank. He gets the season anyway. He has to. We can't sack him no matter what. But I think it's going to be a tough long season with a lot of boos

That's fine. I'm ok with judging performance when the games count. Very often managers and even players aren't showing tactics in friendlies, just trying to get teams used to some systems. Intensity isn't the same, substitutions aren't the same.

And none of that matters because the game doesn't count. Frank's resume starts with Burnley. If he sucks, I won't defend him. But pre-season, win or lose, is utterly meaningless.

Very difficult to lower expectations when they are on the floor.

Levy sacked Nuno on 1st Nov after 17 games so dont think he won't do it again if we are struggling.

Yeah I agree tbh. Was it 2008 we went unbeaten, battered Roma 5-0 and bent and Bentley looked like world beaters.

These games are purely for fitness purposes. Of course there's things to improve on, cohesion etc but nobody's living or dying on a pre season game.

That's not to say we don't need significant improvements to the squad btw. But I'm not throwing the baby out with the bathwater after today.

Surely not man. Levy would have to walk himself if it got to that. Surely he's in his own last chance saloon now.

I've massive massive concerns around Frank. I genuinely think its going to be identical to Nuno. But I don't see him getting sacked this season. He'll get time and no investment.

Levy might like the idea of turning us into budget friendly brentford anyway!
 
Dude hasn't managed a single competitive match yet, with a team totally devoid of creativity or any star power at all and some of you are just waiting to stick the boot in.

Son was the last real superstar we had left and now he's gone. We don't appear to be in any hurry to replace him or Madders and you're going to blame Frank for a lack of creativity... My dudes, the problem here is short and bald not tall with flowing locks.
