Even if it doesn't work out I don't think he'd get sacked until after the World Cup when some international managers are likely to become available.

If he gets sacked after one season given the (non)-backing in the transfer market, Levy has truly lost the plot and there’d be no real point in following the club any longer.

Well the club had 3 managers since Pochettino was sacked November 2019 until Conte left in March 2023. I make that about 3 and a third years.

Not including Mason.

I like Thomas as a man and manager but he's being handcuffed by Levy. In fact I don't think there's a manager in world football that can achieve a top 4 and cup win with the squad we have. There's no depth and more importantly little quality anywhere.

I think much of the way we play will look a lot like how we did with Conte as manager. Murderball, set pieces and structural rigidity but not much going forward. Conte had Kane and Son available and the few chances they got were converted 40% of the time.

Can't see Johnson, Solanke, Richy, Kudus, Tel and Odobert combined getting close to what Son and Kane managed.

Top 5 and a Cup win ....what's that? you want BOTH, and in the SAME season :levylol:

I think he’s a better manager than Nuno but it’s hard not to see the parallels

Previous manager sacked and clear holes in the squad, basically zero technical quality in the side and very little threat. No signings of note made for new manager. Levy is clearly setting him up to fail in the exact same way Nuno was set up to fail.
At least Nuno had Kane and son

Little idea = won more than Frank. Look Ange was completely out of his depth but Frank is more likely to be Nuno than Poch. Hes had five pre season games and we look a dumpster fire. Most of that is not on Frank but he has to accept responsibility. Baring the top six this is the most expensive squad assembled in the PL. That's a fact regardless of how shit most of those players are. If he cant get a little tune out of them then he will be on Nuno time frame. Only this time, there is no Conte but right now I'd take fucking Dych. At least he can organise.
Thought that was one franks skill to organise?

I rather lose 4-0 a pointless pre season game where the weaknesses are obvious and fixes worked upon tactically, it is better than having a flattering 1-1 draw and go into the real games assuming everything is ok.

Surely not man. Levy would have to walk himself if it got to that. Surely he's in his own last chance saloon now.

I've massive massive concerns around Frank. I genuinely think its going to be identical to Nuno. But I don't see him getting sacked this season. He'll get time and no investment.

Levy might like the idea of turning us into budget friendly brentford anyway!
Yeah Frank wasn’t no 1 for me glasses could have been or di zirbi who has a bit devil about him. Could certainly see him fire up some of the players. Plus he likes to play a very aggressive style which is what we need. We are far too passive. Anyways back to Frank he needs to show he is more than just a talking coaching manual. Hopefully he can sort out the tactics better than Ange but I don’t want to see a low block counter attacking team. Remember the interview with levy and vinai they said he talked all the boxes and he was selected after very care consideration. I wonder what the boxes were and if it goes tits up surely levy , vinai and the board have to go.

What can Frank do with attacking options including the likes of Brennan, Tel, Richy and Odobert?

Solanke at his best is average and our only good attacker is our new signing Kudus in my opinion.

We all know this but this season depends on whether Levy will bring out the wallet or not otherwise we are in for an abysmal or underwhelming season after our success in the EL. As is always, Levy never builds on successes.
Yes but everyone has accepted these attacking options. I’ve been consistent and said they are crap and we have way too much on them when we could have got much better for the money. I’ve always said get proper quality, supplement with some reasonably priced youngsters who have been properly scouted. Then develop from our internal academy players. Integrate them slowly and see how they get on. We just seem to have a scatter gun approach to our squad. There is no real thought process.

Agree with his statement that on the whole its been a positive pre-season. No, were not in the top echelon clubs in the world, and we can't be because the club heirarchy doesn't have that ambition. He's said it himself, he'll take seventh in the league, and regrettably realistically is where we're at. That's out station in life: mid-table medicocrity and jagging the once-in-generation Cup win.
