He doesn't fancy Odobert that much, and he surely doesn't fancy Tel one bit. Hence his [futile] attempts at shoehorning Johnson to right, left, wherever. Or playing Simons on the left.

Specifics of it are not very important, but back 3 is the way for this team.
Better to just play odo or tel on the left. They are both very young and can improve on things.
They're both natural to that side

It's way better than putting Simons out there who's been terrible on the left, truly pointless. Or even worse shunting Johnson out there, or kudus

Many of us were beating this back 3 drum last year due to general state of our wingers and it hasn't improved since, with Son leaving and Kulusevski being out. Simons is not a winger and is more of a Maddison replacement anyway, and even Kudus could be better utilized in a more central role.

This utter chaos of a second half had nothing to do with formation or personnel though. Players looked utterly confused and terrified of a Championship bound Wolves team just because they went down by a goal. I thought we were past this kind of mental fragility.

Today we saw of limitations of Thomas Frank as a top level manager.

You cant play physically to a physical team. You have to really on opening them up in conventional sense.
What good is stopping your own momentum and keep doing the long throws ?

Against such teams like Wolves , you have to open them up through open play. Long throws can be surprise weapon but it shouldnt come at expense of stopping your momentum

Palhinha, Bergvall, Bentancur midfield has to be stopped when playing low mid table teams.

We need Bergvall engine in the CM - Him pressing the defenders running around is useless.

Xavi was shit all game but I would rather play him at 10 than wings.

If he is not going to budge on back 4 then yeah, it has to be Odobert/Tel on the left and Kudus on the right. No arguments there.

Put your best attackers [Kudus and Simons] in the best possible situation, one of them on the right and the other in the middle, and rely on them to elevate their not-so-great teammates to a higher level.

I know it's early in his tenure but I find it bizarre how we seem to have accepted and dare I say it been excited for free kicks, corners and above all long throws. We mocked that lot for the exact same thing, rightfully so, and yet seem to want to copy them instead of focusing on being able to break teams down with the ball.

Like I said it's early and there's nothing wrong with adding a threat with long throws and set pieces in general but not at the expense of playing football to punish these sorts of teams, especially at home.

For me he has to figure out a way to get more out of the front 3. Putting in a couple of good crosses from wide positions a game isn't going to cut it. I think the midfield 3 needs tweaking a bit you have palinha as the central battler then either sarr or bergvall as the engine with xavi central in the pockets further forward.
