If the players are cunts then drop them.

Play the kids. Come and tell the fans that they are not performing as expected. He won’t accept poor performances and as such will only play those committed.

We are losing games for fun anyway; if we are seeing ideas and fight on the pitch we are more likely to accept what is happening.
This is just fan fantasy. If he drops several senior players and plays kids in the next game, and we get battered, then he gets fired the next day. I know that, he knows that, and deep down you know that. I know the situation is desperate, but that's simply not a practical solution. There isn't one.

He carries on with this, he’s going to get fired anyway. 🤷‍♀️
I agree. But there is no reason for him to deliberately accelerate that by doing something that he knows would almost certainly get him fired next day. It would also make him look desperate, like he has no other option. For his own self-preservation, he needs to believe (or at least pretend to believe) that his methods will come good in time, and stick to them with what he perceives to be his best players. I'm not saying that's the best thing for us, I'm saying it's the best for him, so he'd be crazy to suddenly dump all the seniors and play kids instead. It's not gonna happen, it's just crazy fan talk.

Yeah those subs did it for me. I'm usually calm about giving managers 2 seasons even but that was a cowardly move
Spence was pretty shite and wasn’t putting in the effort.

I think the idea behind Palhinha was to shore up the midfield and provide a platform for the midfield to operate.

Of course we want to see more attacking intent, but if you can’t win the ball in midfield bringing on an attacker is all for nowt.

Edit: laugh all you want Kaz Hirai Kaz Hirai , that’s what I think the idea was behind the substitution.

Mid-table teams like Palace and Forest have significantly better midfields than we do with way better passing and ball-progression. Our best pairing is a past-it Bentancur and a talented but raw 19 year old kid. We're miles off it.
We're short in a few areas, but in terms of overall importance CM is the big one by far, followed by LW and LB. Striker is one for the summer.
This is true.
And how can any true Spurs supporter reflect on this and not accept what a damning indictment it is on our ownership.
We really have been utterly scammed

He himself said the game was over at what 50 minutes in? I mean fuck me if that's the attitude and message coming from the boss is it any wonder the players don't give a fuck either?

I am under no illusion that our players are better than they are, we have probably assembled the most bang average squad that I've ever seen but I thought the whole point of bring Frank in was that he would get us well coached, well drilled and improve "lesser" attacking players like he did at Brentford.

Either way I've missed my original point, subs were shit, players are shit, manager is shit and the owners are shit. 🤣

Ok, I didn’t know that.

I am very surprised he hasn’t been able to galvanise them and the only reason for that can be is that they aren’t having him. I’m sick of changing managers, it hasn’t worked for us for years. Kick out the under performing players and moaners, be strong as owners and as fans. It’s why I haven’t really been critical of the booing, the players need to know that if they or anyone else at the club don’t want higher standards then the fans have to be the ones to demand it.

What makes this whole situation worse, is that we are building nothing. If anything our foundations are being ripped apart. Frank's style of play is pragmatism where we over adapt to what the opposition do. This is a short term solution to get results and we aren't even doing that. He is also prioritising playing senior players when possible which again is short term thinking. This is fine and almost ideal if we are close to getting over the line (you can't win with kids!), BUT we are 11th in the league and totally inconsistent!

Atleast under Ange there was a clear style of play and the players had bought into it. The foundations were strong and he was giving youngsters like Bergval and even Mikey Moore minutes. His style was ultimately naive and led to injuries, but he had laid good foundations for the next manager. All we had to do was get better at set pieces and manage the game state much better. It was there. It just needed small adjustments.

But Frank has totally fucked this job up. He's ripped away any style of play, he hasn't a clue who his best players are because the tactics are different every game, and it looks like he's gone all in on the set pieces rather than focusing on any open play patterns. I can't see how this gets better. I can confidently say that even if we had Solanke, Maddison and Kulusevski back that nothing would improve. Even if we sign 3 top players in January, I don't see him making us a top side.

This is Nuno all over again but the worst thing about it is we are letting it drag out this time and he's driving us off a cliff. Under Ange there was always a feeling that we could be a top team when our players were available and there was some big results to back that up. Under Frank, we just play like the underdog every week. We never play like a top team under him, even our 2 good results earlier in the season (PSG and CITY), we sat back and got lucky for large periods. I really wanted to believe we could play like that in certain games but then be a dominant force in most games but its not happened. 3-0 defeat to forest is the pits. He's destroyed any foundations Ange had laid. Its worse than even now.

Cant see him being sacked even after defeats to those 2 tbh.
They will wait for the Summer. More manager choice, and giving him a full season makes it look more like a fair considered decision

Yeah but it depends how he does over the next 6 games or so. If he only scrapes a point or two he'll be gone.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see a reaction against pool and then lose the next few after.

So you supported the previous manager up until the moment he lost 4 out of his starting back 5 for three months - having almost double the xG vs xGA (and a +17 GD) than the present manager has managed in the first 16 games.

Then you jumped off when the going got hard. You ran when we lost all our best players - the core of our defence. You fled like a cowardly cur.

So then the European Trophy win - the best Spurs moment for 40 years - tasted sour because you'd jumped off. Because you hadn't earned it. Because you're a cowardly cur.

Because you went all in on sacky sack. And now the sacky sack hasn't worked out. But you want everyone else to not be sacky sack because... why exactly? What fucking sense of consistency or basic standards are you expecting of other people that you, yourself, failed to uphold just a year ago?

If you didn't have your head so far up your ass you'd be able to see what a pathetic mewling hypocrite you are. Some of us warned you this would happen. You do NOT get to lecture me about "patience" buddy. And you sure as shit don't get to rewrite the history of this forum. The "Cultists" were proved right and were rewarded with a European Trophy. The cowardly curs who jumped - they get to own... whatever the fuck this shit we're in now is.

I warned you this would happen. Don't fucking drown me in your crocodile tears now the going has got tough on the new era. Frank, like the last manager - is working with DROSS!
Looks like someone is still extremely angry about Ange being sacked. Is this what it looks like when someone cares more about the manager than the club?

I like how you conveniently left out the reason why literally the entire backline, sans Porro, went out with hamstring injuries last season. Was it because the idiot manager failed to rotate? Or was it because his system had the defenders turning and sprinting back to chase down attackers a dozen times game? You don't get to cry about injuries to defenders when hamstring injuries are a feature of his tactics.

The Ange Cultists spent the better part of two years excusing your dear leader of any responsibility for the club's bad form. Not his fault all the defenders had hamstring injuries for two years straight. Not his fault that the attackers passed the ball in a big U pattern and looked clueless every match. Not his fault that he played Son as an ineffective touchline winger. Not his fault that we couldn't defend a set piece. Not his fault that he repeatedly taunted the supporters and cupped his ears at them. It's all on the players and Levy.

And now you're showing your true colors by emerging from under your rock to gleefully celebrate Ange's successor struggling to turn the club around. After all, it's more important to be right and say "heheuehue I told you so!" than to see the club you allegedly support be successful. You want to talk about hypocrisy, that's exactly the behavior you lot accused everyone of last year.

You care more about the previous manager than this club. Maybe you can become a fan of whatever MLS club falls for Ange's con next.

Yeah but it depends how he does over the next 6 games or so. If he only scrapes a point or two he'll be gone.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see a reaction against pool and then lose the next few after.

True it's not impossible, if we start getting smashed home and away then yeah they'll have to do it quicker than wanted as relegation isn't out of the question as relegation threatened Forrest just played us off the park.
And Leeds and West Ham could quite easily put enough home wins together to drag us into it

Problem is, who do we go for from here? All the noise from the club in the summer was that they were so convinced frank was the perfect fit for the role, I’ve got absolutely 0 confidence they’ll get it right next.

All I know is I never want to see a pragmatic manager at this club ever again. It simply does not work

Cannot believe its still Postecoglou all over this forum. I honestly thought that spell at Forest would have been the end of that argument where he's been shown up by Nuno and Dyche either side. It was 100% right to sack him, he was lucky to get 2 seasons but that doesnt mean Frank is doing a good job because he isnt and he'll also be gone at some point in the next 6 months. Both have been limited at best but both have been stitched up by appalling recruitment and lazy arsed players. The club as a whole is a mess.
