So, we start a nice little Franky thread, we're all have a laugh and a giggle, then bloody Richard Arlison Richard Arlison turns up and starts debating bloody football.

The fact that he has that ethos and has done it so well at Brentford is encouraging.
Lots of things are much more difficult at Brentford than at Tottenham, but building a united, hardworking, no ego internal culture is not one of them.

That's much EASIER at a low budget neighborhood club than it is at a place where the squad is bigger and more diverse, the players are more famous and more highly paid, the fan and media scrutiny is higher, etc.

And Frank had been an assistant there for nearly two years when he got the head job, and led them in the Championship for two and a half more before they made the Premier League.

Frank is not walking into Spurs with the command of the room he has always had at Brentford. Gaining that credibility to dictate the culture is going to be a major challenge.

But that's how he acted for everyone from Poch to Conte, doesn't matter who the manager is in that instance
Well, he may have acted that way with them, but I remember under Mou, he promised money and big signings. I'm sure Conte wouldn't have came under the premise he'd be getting riff Raff.

We'll get a yes man who'll take his medicine and thank him for the honour. And, when our squad inevitably isn't capable of handlings multiple competitions, results will turn, he'll get sacked and the next sorry bastard will come in for an 18 month spin.

Beyond bored of this bullshit.

Make managers boring again.

And if a professional athlete needs a “cult of personality”-type gaffer for motivation, they’re expendable.

Huh???

Compared to other clubs we don't have an ego-filled squad.

Not in the slightest.

What you on about??

The only mardy cunt who thinks he's the bollocks is Romero.

I've got a great chant going in my head.

Ooooooh
Oooooh ooooh oooh
Oooooh ooooh oooh
Thoooomas Fraaaannk

Agree.
It's hard to imagine him getting 4 years to work with a young group of players at ours, never qualifying for Europe, finishing 13th, 9th, 16th and 10th plus going out in the 3rd round of the Cup in 3 of the 4 seasons and him still being in a job.

Particularly when the players know he is just another dead man walking with Levys finger hovering over the trigger.

If he comes in trying to call the shots they might just down tools early and he will be out of a job by Christmas

Hopefully there'll be no reason for thinktank thinktank to start up a Thomas Frank Positivity thread in a few months!

He'd have input.

Like he would have with Fab, here.

Wages won't be cut more just because we have Frank.

Not sure that's even possible with the stingy packages we rolled out last summer.

Part of the reason Ange has gone is we've pissed away tons of league money for finishing in the gutter.

Baldcunt would want that was rolling back in.

All you wimps wetting your knickers is hilarious.

You lost your boy, but don't lose your heads as well.

Denying this guy is a very, very good manager that suits us down to a tee right now is tragic.
Pissed away tons of league money, but getting into the CL which is has given more money than fishing 6th or 7th, which should really be the expectation here given that we refuse to compete with our peers wage wise.

Don't see how you say wages won't be cut. If Son leaves, we'll be competing with midtable sides wage wise. I very much doubt Frank is going to come in and demand too much, he'll be happy just to be here.

We also don't have the players at the club for his system. We don't have an Mbuemo or Wissa up top who are perfect for him. We have a striker who's world class at sprinting, but can't score. A winger with not much pace who's best trait is overloading the back post, and an aging Son who's lost some pace.

I don't see how this is a good appointment at all, or suits us to a tee. Happy to eat humble pie, but this feels like a yes man that Levy likes, and we'll continue trying to fight for top 6, when our ambition should be much higher.

I'm tired boss.

A very very good manager would have at least been offered a big job before he turned 50 would he not? This is his pinnacle and sadly it seems to be ours now.

So why would you endorse the appointment of a manager who is the embodiment of the regime you profess to loathe. It's like giving carte- blanche to Levy's shoestring budget, anti competitive, loser philosophy.
Sorry. I just don’t get it.
He's the embodiment of the tactical nous, maturity, principles, philosophy and experience we require, who is fully equipped to work under this intransigent regime and get the best out of our players, that I'm endorsing.

That's the point.

It' s becoming super, super weird that some of you can't grasp this.

Almost as if you don't want to.
