I wasn't being silly. You can't tell me that finishing in the top 4 with Poch and nothing to show for it but a CL place was a better outcome than winning the Europa (UEFA) Cup and still getting into the CL?
Glory, not losers.

I don't think teams "worked us out". My feeling is that we reached the end of a cycle. Burned out. Couldn't keep the levels we had achieved in the previous 3 or 4 seasons.
Then how didn't he take what he was doing at Spurs anywhere else? Why is he managing the US and not a top team?I don't think teams "worked us out". My feeling is that we reached the end of a cycle. Burned out. Couldn't keep the levels we had achieved in the previous 3 or 4 seasons.
I get what you are saying, but he went from us to PSG. No one else had manged to sqaure the circle of the owners model until the Qatari's worked out that it was their game plan that was at fault. Then how didn't he take what he was doing at Spurs anywhere else? Once teams accepted we would press them, they stopped playing, shut up shop and we had no plan B. They'd just pump balls up and target Davies, who even then had no pace and it was match after match. Jose came in and got a tune out of that squad immediately, also well past his sell by date.
You heard of the Championship? No chance. Frank has no experience or two games a week and this squad is nowhere near good enough to balance CL and PL. It’s gonna be a brutal slog of a season.
Bringing Poch back is based on nostalgia and emotion. Levy doesn't do nostalgia and emotion.
Frank is not the answer, feels like a backwards-sideways move.
Didn’t united sound him out and he wasn’t interested? Then why no big job offer... what's been the issue. Surely the Chavs or United would have given him the opportunity if he was that good. The Chavs went for a Championship manager over him. For me, hes not and never will be a big club manager. He's okay in his safe place but this is an order of magnitude different.
I too would like Brentford's forwards. Make it happen, Frank! Can he bring Mbeumo and Wissa if Spurs match ManU bid.
That combined with Grealish and Bisseck is probably all this squad needs for next season
He has PL experience and has done well in the league year after year. It's unlikely that he will lose anything close to 22 games in a season. It's also likely that he would beat the mighty Bodo Glimt. AZ, and Frankfurt. He's beaten better teams than that. He would also most likely win with Celtic, like every manager does. So it's not riskier than having anyone who just lost 22 games. He isn't the manager yet. If/when it is so then of course back him. That doesn't change the fact his CV is totally empty and we are rolling the dice on the basis he got 9th.
