I think he's dug himself into a cushty position with Brentford, the supporters like him, no great pressure to win anything, not bad wages for a relatively small club. He'd be mad to walk away from that to come here IMO.

He's going to be expected to be challenging at least for 5th, has to use the squad for 4 competitions, doesn't really have any attacking players who are game changers, supporters likely to be on his back, doesn't really have anyone who suits the role of captain, doesn't know what's happening in the transfer window. players that seem to be often injured. protests going on to get the Chairman ENIC out, lots if derby matches that he'd be expected to win.

Is it worth it?

He took the 14th best paid Brentford in Championship to PL and kept them in midtable...taking a 17th placed tottenham to top5 even with Europe is not a difficult job.

He lost his start striker Watkins , then he improved Toney and got the promotion. When Toney got banned for 10 months , he changed their attackign style from direct to through the lines and playing with pace with Mbuemo & Wissa.

If anything, lack of resources has never been his problem. Infact this very thing makes him the best fit of all managers linked
You listing those issues makes the case better for Frank appointment

Come on we haven't fallen that far down the pecking order that a manager would rather stay at Brentford than play CL football at spurs the current EL champions.
If Frank gets offered the job he will jump at the chance
Why? I imagine he enjoys his role and works well with their organised leadership all pulling in the right directions

Err...not true for Klopp though

Klopp managerial career
at Mainz :

Bundesliga division 2 : Began his career in struggling Mainz in 2001
Bundesliga division 1 : promoted to main league in 2004.
Bundesliga relegation : Klopp got relegated in 2006/07 season. Failed to win promotion in 2007/08

at Dortmund :
2008 : took the job in a bigger club with better resource but underperforming
2011-12 - Won the title
2012-13 - CL final

At Liverpool
Rest is history & well known

So, if anything,Frank journey has a lots of parallel to Klopp if anything

Again, I never compared Frank man to man with Pep or Klopp. Like the other poster said I was comparing only their longitivity in one club

I can hear this comparison tbf

Let’s hope it goes like this

Is Silva that bad? He seemed to have overperformed with Fulham. I didn't watch them much but when I did they played alright I thought.

Although I liked what I saw from Brentford more the few times I saw them this season.

Silva is boring manager. Theres nothing likable about him or way he plays. He may be doing well with Fulham but I bloody hope we dont end up appointing him

Levy sacks another manager

His message "look at me being tough, striving for excellence trying to get the perfect manager"

Real message " I'm doing this because I'm a fuckwit and the fans were being mean to me, so I'll give them what they want irrespective of the consequences - plus all I really want is a manager who can keep us top six with mid level players on relegation club salaries."

I mean, that and the 22 losses, which is twice as many wins (11) this season. Had 23 wins from the last 57 league games (1.5 seasons, or from start of 2024). 68 points out of a possible 171. 1.19 points per league game. Basically average of a 45 point season.

Or, in other contexts, equal to pretty much the absolute trough of the 90s.

I wouldn't imagine even the most reality-warping, staunched anti-Levy people could make the mental gymnastics to refer to it as a bad decision, unless they had ambition the same level of West Ham fans, who seem happy to avoid relegation and grateful to win a trophy.

Real message " ....plus all I really want is a manager who can keep us top six with mid level players on relegation club salaries."

Our wage bill is higher than Newcastle's, treble Brentfords, double Nottingham Forest's and Brighton's... in what reality is that 'relegation club salaries'?

Hyperbole never does anything to make me take the criticism as genuine.

Really not sure I buy it as an issue tbh

Players are mercenary

As soon as the new manager starts working with them, fresh ideas/routines, win a game or two - they'll be on board

They're all used to change, I think this whole player revolt thing is clickbait and no more

They had a good relationship with Ange, an incredible experience in Bilbao, and are sad to see him go and are wishing him well. A pretty human response, hardly a mutiny...

(Although.... Anyone think Maddison is conspicuous in his silence?)
Someone has spotted it 👀

Romero not said anything either

My guess is that they are staying quiet because they are doing something else behind the scenes. Probably already trying to engineer moves out

Well I would stay at Brentford in his position but if he wants a go at the Spurs job with all our issues, I'll support him. If there's not an instant uptick our supporters aren't patient and Levy isn't much more so.

I’m over it now, and whatever, Frank is a decent coach, let’s give him a chance.

But without reading that article, does it once mention Frank being able to deliver major silverware?

It will have been a journalist doing the club’s media team a favor by writing a positive spin, so the angle will probably give a decent insight into what the club really wants

Christ, when you put it like that.....🤦‍♂️

Analysis by Swiss Ramble shows that Brentford have been top of the league in terms of performance relative to wages for every single season they have been in the Premier League. That shows the scale of Frank’s overperformance.
People will say it's because of the people upstairs at Brentford and how they run the club.

But I don't see that as a point against him. Managers need the club to help them. That's why they always want to spend. And surely he's part of the reason why Brentford are well run. They decided he was their guy, there must be a reason for that.
