Are you Frank Out or In?

I agree...7th or 8th hopefully..
Why do you hate my optimism? Strange thing to say...
I have no rational explanation for the difference in both seasons except maybe..just maybe we were playing decent football before he came and managed to retain a certain level and some dignity which just wore down after time
.it's just a hypothesis though...

Mate..the club was a shambles when Frank's predecessor arrived after Conte had a meltdown. Generational talent Kane was on his way out. He transformed the style of football and changed the starting eleven. If not for his lack of pragmatism, several crucial injuries -and some coach killer players like Bissouma- we could have had 4th place in his first season. He said Spurs should be wining trophies and a trophy we won.

We now have a guy who has been left with a more stable platform to build on, but says he'll take us to the dizzying heights of 7th ...and we're ok with it.

How about some ambition and rousing of the troops?

Such a low outcome is clearly the result of a lot of bad luck too.
name me one game when we were unlucky to lose or only get a draw.

I'll give you the eintracht 1-1 at home, we hit the woodwork 3 times in the 2nd half but it didnt matter overall as we went though anyway.

But in the PL? Can't think of a single game. I can think of some losses which were by the one goal but where we were absolutely battered. can think of some draws where we wre batterd
How does your explanation explain the difference between Ange season 1 and 2?
matches played for starters

2023-24: 41 matches
2024-25: 60 matches

and in that first season we fell off a cliff last 10 matches, only beating relegated teams. We basically lasted about 30 matches.

30 mathces season 2 took us to about Tamworth.

after that just 2 home wins in PL from then on, Saints and MU

I reckon we were unlucky to lose the Chelsea game when we played with nine.

Then there was the City game at home at the end of the season where Son had a one-on-one with the keeper.

Off the top.

Last 14 games of the season. Effectively 1/3 of the season we got 11 points.

The second half of the season we got 14 points. 14!!! 19 league games.

In what world do you live in where that is stable platform? It’s bottom 5 form. In other words fucking terrible.

Half a season!! 14 points in 19 games. 4 wins. “Stable platform”. I’ve seen it all now.

I'm talking about last season. Eintracht was last season.

who has been left with a more stable platform to build on,
My god what planet are you on

you obv dont go to matches. I can hardly think you watched any PL from November onwards. 2 home wins in 14 matches!!!

Thats not a stable platform thats falling off a cliff and relegation fight form!!

Stable platform my arse

see @manmountaibutters post at the top of the page.

He’s looking at one side of the coin. Flip it over and there are issues.

Son. Clearly on his way out. Probably won’t stay here though.
Solanke. Overuse injury last year and already injured this season.
Udogie. Big op last summer. More injuries last season. Again already injured.
VDV. Recurring injury. Probably affect his whole career.
Kulu. Big injury. See how he returns.
Maddison. Recurring injuries.
Romero. Long term injury. Seemingly understood and fixed by Argentina. Who knows though??

It’s got the potential for another shitstorm. You need to go full strength in the CL every match week.

Myself (and Joanna) hope very much Frank does well, is backed (?) by the Board and given (highly unlikely) patience by the fans at a Club that is fast becoming an Elephants Graveyard for managers.

5th and a Trophy in 2 seasons, a raft of teenage stars who have now learned from the mistakes of losing premier league games and also built the belief they can win things.

Frank himself repeatedly stating that he wants to build on the foundations and success Ange left but add a more defensive balance.

You asked for one game.

I gave you two.

No I don't go to matches- much as I wish I could- due to a ten hour time difference and 17,000 km's

What I saw was an injury-ravaged squad (to key players) that never built up any momentum due to said injuries, a starting eleven stop gapped with youngsters like Bergval, Grey and even Kinsky, and an idealist manager unwilling to compromise for results, who not only NEVER lost the dressin room, but had them believe in his goal of winning a trophy.

I can guarantee that Frank would much rather have this platform than the one when Conte left.

And no were were never in relegation danger.

The self-belief that this young squad now has needs to be nurtured, and I don't see how that happens when the new manager is publically saying he is will "take seventh".

Yeah I like him as well.

I worry that people overrate tactics and are expecting miracles when it takes a lot of time and continuity to really create a team and a lot of his first season will come down to the luck of how often his best players are fit and in form.

Whatever happens, I want to see a manager last longer than 2 seasons this time

He talks a lot about culture and building a good one etc.

That (plus not being backed in the transfer market) will be what does him in the end. Nobody has succeeded in changing the culture and we all know why.
