Iraola signed for Bournemouth in July 2023.

They got gutted this summer: Kepa, Huijsen, Kerkez, Zabarnyi...

Came to our place, humiliated us. Big friggin time. Could easily have been 3 or 4.

Big slice of humble pie for TF.

Sure, but what about our players? Aren't they responsible for being able to trap a ball, not header or long ball straight back to their opposition, getting beaten to nearly every 50-50 ball or brushed off it like men against boys?

How can the player culture transcend numerous managers and coaches?

I think his hands are tied somewhat with this squad, and I don’t blame today on him. But I’m concerned how even the last 20 we really had no method of putting pressure on them. Get it wide, lump it in, change something. The only reason we even got at them at the end was they sat back and wasted the game away.

Of course it ain't all on good ol Thomas.

The players are the main culprits.

Last season, Ange allowed endless defeats in the prem to become the norm for us. I groaned about it back in February and some fans were defending Ange saying 'fuck the league'. The point I made back then is that the normalisation of losing should never be allowed to happen at this level of the game and certainly not at a big club like ours otherwise it becomes psychologically ingrained. Much of the squad is unchanged. To expect Frank to rub out this mental fragility in a few months is crazy. What we bore witness to last season is what we saw again yesterday afternoon; lack of focus and substandard precision.

In top end team sports, you always play to win. One game, ten games, cup games, friendlies ... doesn't matter. It's the only way to develop the mentality and concentration required to win this bastard of a league.

spurs have been a loser club for decades, ange needed 5 years to change the culture and implement his playing style and philosophy and build a roster that could change the whole direction of the club. VDV only played 12 league matches in the league last year romero i think only played 16 league matches in the league ,the injury toll was horrific. rebuilds take patience and years to do . ange is gone after winning a trophy a dumb decision. frank is going to need 5 years if he is going to create something .

Not worried about Frank in the slightest. He'll spend two weeks now probably rewatching that game 50 times. He'll know full well about our shit record pre-international break. He'll address this.

Unfortunately next game is spammers cup final, and they may have a new manager bounce.

It’s really impressive coaching. Only a matter of time until he goes to a big club and I think we might have missed out.

I’m really happy with Frank but there will be an element of what could have been if we’d hired him instead. That said, he didn’t win for his first 10 games as Bournemouth manager which says it all.

Frank will be great for us I have no doubts

Haha nah. Ange was totally the wrong guy. If he’d stayed any longer he’d have relegated us. 5 years of Ange… fucking hell lol

Or he will be let down by the board and/or that weak ass locker room culture.

There is and has been a losing mindset at the club for years.
Players think, they can switch performance levels on and off when they choose.
If this club is to be successful, performance levels like yesterday need to be a rarity not the norm as it is now.

Franks an intelligent guy and will know the mentality of a lot of these players is shocking.

The list of defeats before international matches is the evidence you need to know where these pampered, over paid pricks loyalties lay.

Dear me. Ange needed 5 years???? To do what? Get into the National League

Yes franks tactics were questionable and there’s certainly things we would all of changed. But yesterday was mostly on those players,to go from last week to that abomination yesterday says a lot about these players, especially our so called established internationals they looked disinterested and lethargic Bornemouths players put ours to shame.I’m not absolving frank of all the blame and I know he’ll learn from this he’s a smart guy.

While I’d obviously rather we won, the game helpfully highlighted key weaknesses that its Franks job to address. He will I am sure, given time

Does anyone think the players might have 'overindulged' at Maddison's house the night before.
This was one of my first thoughts.

They were out thought and bullied, but weren’t up for it at all. We’ve lost the last 7 games going in to international breaks, which is probably more indicative of an issue with mentality. Many of our players have call ups, some for the first time or the first time in ages.

Classic don’t want to get injured mentality.

I think the way to win yesterday was sit a bit deeper and deny them the wide open spaces. That would have suited Palhinha better if he was going to play.
This pratfall coming early can be good in a way. Now Frank has had a go at a team that we should curbstomp, a team that we need to outsmart, and now one of the teams that are going to fight us on equal footing.

Now he knows and can take his lessons from it. And adapt going forward.
