I was giving you advice, Fatty.
Yeah i'd be trying that a bit more, offsets our limitations at left wing and centre forward. Porro and Udogie as wing backs, Kudus off Richarlison with Simmons behind. Pailinha and Sarr at CM.Think we looked best against PSG. And we played with two up front, rather than one striker and two wingers. And it didn't hamper our attack at all. In fact, both Kudus and Richy seemed to thrive in that role.
Maybe it's time to try that formation again.
Totally disagree we were exciting under Ange. We had our moments now and again, but were generally shite to watch. We still are shite to watch I will grant you.Ange was too attacking and had no appreciation for defensive discipline or adapting to opponents tactics. We just played with an aggressive style of play and attacked every game. It worked quiet well when we had all our best players fit and we were able to dominate and beat teams. However, once managers figured him out he didn't adapt or have any plan B. Frank is almost the opposite. We have no real style of play but we set up to be very hard to break down. We are overly aware of the oppositions strengths and almost show them too much respect! This is fine against superior teams but most our prem games will be against teams who should be inferior.
Frank is still only a few games in so happy to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that he is working on an attacking style of play which we'll use regularly in home games against relegation teams. We shouldn't be doing long throw ins at home to Wolves. We should be going short and playing through them with our superior football players.
Ironically enough, from a neutral POV, we've probably gone from the most exciting team in the league to the most boring team in the league to watch.
I actually don't think that midfield works. Palhinha and Sarr are a similar profile. Both have legs but neither as good as Bentancur or Bergval at receiving the ball on the spin and playing through the lines from deep. And Xavi Simons just doesn't look like he has that James Maddison trait of being able to drop deep and dictate the play. Simons looks like someone who wants to stay forward and always have 2 midfielders behind him protecting him.I think I’d play a midfield three of Palhinha, Sarr and Xavi and start that for a few games. A bit harsh on bergval but it’s got everything the team needs right there. PL football gets complicated a lot more than it should do but that midfield has everything you need. Defensive solidity, legs, energy, a bit of guile and some creativity. Plus goals.
Anyway, it’s our attack that is the problem not the eight players behind it. I would also say that I’d like to see our fullbacks crossing the ball a lot more from deep positions. We’ve more than enough ability to covert crosses and in players like xavi and sarr players good at picking up second balls.

So I think it has to be one of Bentancur/Bergval/Gray beside one of Palhinha/Sarr if we want to accommodate Simons in the 10. Open to discussion but thats how I read our current midfield options. If Maddison was available then I'd agree with the idea of playing Sarr and Palhinha together to give him legs while Madders drops deep to help with the build up. It just doesn't work with Simons so we need a ball playing midfielder playing in the 2.

Fair. So far he's looked too weak a player to do that. Maybe he'll grow into it.Xavi definitely can drop deep and help build up. He did it at previous clubs.
He’s probably being told not to.
"small team" and think "easy"…….is a Tottenhams Hotspur frailty going back for long enough with different squads & managers. Other than the 60s when we were good we’ve never been in a position since to think that way about any opposition, yes to opponents we are a big club and getting a result against us is an achievement and they up their game but it’s up to us to nullify them we should treat a team from Norway the same as we would a team from Italy or Spain , a team from the EFL or national league should be treated as a top 6 club from the EPLYeah, Bodo at home are no mugs. Been said many times. People see "small team" and think "easy". But they are a throwback and an effective one. We should win that game yes, and I think we could have won without some daft rotation, but a draw there isn't a terrible result as some are making out
Think 80% is a bit OTT tbhTel and Odobert are 80% Potential while Brennan great finisher but having him and Richarlison on the same pitch is like having 9 men.
Funny thing was all the you tubers were saying our squad was no where near as bad as 17th. All we needed was a proper coach and this squad would perform better and be able to get more out of the players. Gran came at start of summer apart fromOn the pitch we are very much mid table on paper (especially the paper the accounts are submitted on) we should be top three of four but I get your point, it has been a slow decline and not having Maddison and maybe Kulu available is more of an issue than I thought it would be but I don't think you can plead poverty when you spent 150m on forwards in the summer and also added a highly rated French international on loan (granted he's had a dead leg). The games after the international break will be telling... we have some tough fixtures and need to improve massively. As you say, we will soon find out if this board are patient or not.
he said he was happy with them and can see qualities in them otherwise was just BS.That made me chuckle, but I think in that position I'd rather give the two 20 year olds a chance to show if they can improve and be an option moving forward before the problem (hopefully) gets addressed in January rather than relying on a 24 year old who's proven time and again he ain't nowhere near good enough.
Bmouth couldn’t beat Leeds but they absolutely pummelled us with a strong team. Are we saying Leeds manager is better than Frank. Frank has to start showing he deserves to be here and start acting and setting the team in way that matches our status and revenue. Same as Ange was supposed to do but he failed. He went to low block turgid football to get his 2nd season trophy. Frank seems to be more concerned with the oppo regardless of their quality. That prbly seeps into the players. Just show some balls and tell the team to go out and shit they play for a big club and we ain’t taking no shit. Infact I would have hoped Frank would have got us to be a bit more nastier and physical.Disagree. A draw at home to Wolves is a shit result yes. Disagree on the others. I doubt any PL manager or oppo player regards a draw at Brighton as a shit result.
Have to be honest I think Levy hired Frank to get us up the table. I wanted iraola as manager but poch and Tuchel available next year being forward thinking.Bmouth couldn’t beat Leeds but they absolutely pummelled us with a strong team. You’re coming across as Ange fan. Not a Spurs fan.Funny thing was all the you tubers were saying our squad was no where near as bad as 17th. All we needed was a proper coach and this squad would perform better and be able to get more out of the players. Gran came at start of summer apart from

I didn’t say they were good like Bergval we signed them more for their potential than on field ability.
Irola didn’t take two years nor did glassner. We pay these guys top dollar they are not apprentices. They should be able to put in place their methodologies, phases of play or whatever bollocks you want to call in a short period of time. Harry came in after 8 games and he got us going with the same set of players. So how do you explain Ange's start? Not every manager needs time... I saw a post on here saying it's going to take 2 years for Frank to sort this out... I simply don't prescribe to that, and I am not waiting 2 fucking years for some green shoots... we need to see some sort of improvement even if it is piecemeal... but we aren't... we are seeing regression week after week and the soft scheduled has glossed over how impotent our attack is.
No way tuchel he plays crap football and forget our academy with him.Have to be honest I think Levy hired Frank to get us up the table. I wanted iraola as manager but poch and Tuchel available next year being forward thinking.
How can I come across as Ange fan when I said everyone thought our squad in the hands of a competent couch would do much better? You’re coming across as Ange fan. Not a Spurs fan.
We’re 4th. Not 17th. We’ve had some good performances and some shite. What do you expect coming out of a 2 year coaching-free slumberparty? Prime Barcelona ?
