Why is a roller coaster ride to be expected. We have a squad full or internationals many of which cost a fortune. A good manager should be able to get a tune out of them. We've spent 200m so far this season and 200m last season. How many more new players do you want? This season has already had a few low points. Why should we accept more... its shameful to accept regression.

You are not being realistic.

We have bought players as in the stated 200 million pounds, but we have lost Son, albeit an ageing and less able Son, and have been without 2 PL-honed players in Maddison and Kulusevski. We have no Solanke.

All have been replaced by untried and young players, and assisted by a hardworking but increasingly blunt Richarlison.

We also have a manager who has to grapple with overcoming a home record which is clearly becoming a bit of a noose, and with players who are not able as yet to cope with the pressure it brings. That may not happen at all for some, and that's where quick decisions are necessary.

And I cite the respective starts of United and Liverpool, and even more so Newcastle to try and provide a need for perspective.

Franks football has been dull. But at the same time where is the attacking quality?

Tel? Odobert? Xavi? Richarlison? Johnson?

The squad is full to the brim of bang average and under performing players.

Kudus and Palinha are just about the only decent players in the front 6 positions.

Squad is full of dross. Xavi needs to settle.

We lost yesterday to a side that had 2 shots on target and that was it.

Concern is the Bentancur and Palinha combo being picked over and over but the forwards are just crap

Tel, Odobert and Xavi and Richie are just stinking the joint out first 3 may come good with time but I have my doubts . Other then Kudus we have nothing going forward not helped by how slow we get it forward.

The midfield needs sorting one of Bergval or Sarr have to be playing simple as really

Yeahhh. What we need is exciting, all-out attack, rollercoaster football. I know of a manager who is available. Did really well in Scotland.
There's a very happy middle ground between gung ho nonsense and and this defensive go nowhere nonsense.

It's quite shocking that wanting us to play a semblance of attractive football is such an unpopular wish. Being the new Stoke really epitomizes "To Dare is to Do".

There's one big difference.

Poch had a young Harry Kane.

Frank has Tel.
Lol. Yes. Yes he did.

i really want to like kane but he has the agility of a fucking rhino. its actually painful to watch at times.

Might have bagged a few goals last season but, he is shit with one on ones. Never has any conviction with his final drive or finish, often doesn't even get a shot away.

I'm ok with him being 3rd choice - I'd be worried if he was 2nd choice.

came on today and looked worse than fucking useless. THIS is the reason we absolutely fucking botched it by not signing a striker.

Journeyman who will do lots of things reasonably well sometimes, but excels at nothing. Best asset seems to be taking half-chances from opposition corners, has a 2 out of 2 success rate. Orient was about right for him; he only gets near the team because there are no other options.

Back to Kane...

He has no pace or positioning sense.
Will develop into a decent Championship striker or Redknapp buy at best

lets be realistic..you know from a young age if a player is up to it and how he will turn out. harry kane is an average player. just like lee barnard.

If you remember Mark Falco - Kane is at that kind of a level, for me. Similar skill set as well.
Useful, but won't ever be a Chivers or a Lineker

If Kane was at Falco's level I'd be very happy. 98 goals in 236 games, do you see Kane getting to that level?

He is a good player at the stage of his career, which is not top level. If he were to play as a loan striker now, as you seem to promote, hes football career at Spurs would quickly be finished. He is predictable (limited) and for a quality defender, would not be too difficult to defend against.

All we need is to add 2 or 3 top quality players to the first team and your dream could come true.

All the fcuking clowns moaning, some of whom probably thought in the initial stages at least that Postecoglou was the 'ONE'

It's early days, and a rollercoaster ride is to be expected

The turnaround will be part manager and part new players.

All some posters are sounding like are spoilt fcuking children. Suddenly we should be that lot down the road or filth club. Shameful and deluded.

No fan will or should be happy that we lost yesterday, or that we are not yet firing as we might like. Guess what,I reckon Frank is the same

Time for sone sense in Frank, and let's see how we go through this season, which I think will have quite a few low points.

Yep. Time to accept that patience is required and strap in.

Was never an overnight fix.

We're also 2 points from 11th. We're closer to 13th than we are 1st. We had a very nice fixture list to start the season, yesterday marks the start of a gruelling run until Jan. We failed the first test, miserably, there's not many teams during that run that look winnable given how we're playing.

With Poch, there were clear signs of a playing style, we created chances but couldn't take them. This is turgid, aimless football devoid of any semblance of an idea. We can't control a game at all. Even Ange very evidently transformed how they played and his style was evident from the first game. We're 8 league games in, 5 months into his spell and it's got worse. Nuno rightly got sacked quite quickly because of the same thing we're seeing now, but this is different somehow.

In summary, context matters, and following blindly because someone is new, despite the utter dross being served up, is fucking stupid.

Lol youre rewriting history about Poch.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry...
Don't they realise he has to undo the damage caused by ange before we can expect consistent results...
I think it is more to do with recruitment. At Brentford he had forwards with genuine straight line speed ... Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade. So they could play balls down channels and win the race.
We have very few forwards that could play like that, Brennan maybe. The pace in the team seems to be in defence ... Micky, Udogie.

November against Chelsea when we lost 3-0 was when you could see what he was tying to do but we also lost to Stoke and Newcastle at home that month, we were pretty shocking...the Villa match where we were absolutely shit and scored with a deflected Kane free kick everyone thought that the project was done because we were absolutely abysmal and he actually says that free kick saved his job.

Anyway it's a pointless comparison, both managers have picked up from previous managers and seasons in much different circumstances, can't judge this manager until he gets some of his big hitters back on the pitch, we've lost a fuck load of goal contributions in this team from last season so we're always going to struggle to score and create.

We always need 2/3 top players. My issue is this cautious bullshit. Two DM's who pass sideways or back. One who isn't a very good footballer, but great at breaking things up. Playing them both together when we have no Cuti to break lines handicaps us. Even without a great attack, we should still be creating chances centrally, but we're seemingly incapable of doing so, like we spent £55m on that player, so there's not that excuse.

It's just torrid, aimless nonsense. It's either play for set pieces or give it to Kudus to make things happen, and he's a headless chicken most of the time so attacks die off. We had an open play XG of 0.17 yesterday. How that's acceptable to anyone is beyond me.
