Cute.

The cult of "we're pretty shite right now"? People defending this are cultists. This is Spurs, not Burnley, expectations should be higher here.
I can definitely contend with the fact we have been playing poorly of late but I don't really think it's exactly conducive to a constructive conversation to suggest anyone who thinks Frank isn't entirely at fault for that is a "cultist". I am not a fan of his safety-first approach in games I think demand a higher degree of risk with midfield selection, Bentancur and Palhinha should objectively only be playing together in the last 20-30 mins of games we're winning as it does afford a high degree of defensive solidity, but completely stymies our creativity, I hold hope that Frank can see that after Villa and we always see one of Berg or Sarr start.
I will really be interested in his performance in the tough period, I think the result vs City who have been no pushovers themselves this year and taking PSG to penalties suggests we may see a different side to Frank's Spurs when we are supposed to be the anvil rather than the hammer. Even if we drop points through November tbh its hard to judge him when we bought no Son replacement, an AM who seems to be months off adapting and miles short of confidence, a striker who needed a month to get fit and the 2 signings who have worked out well. Jan window if we strengthen at bare minimum I'm not judging him much til Feb/March.

Did you ever watch his Brentford?

Why would anyone expect him to do something different with us?

One person?

I mean, I didn’t want him, still don’t, and if we could find a better coach I’d happily see Frank gone, but I’m not actively calling for his sack right now, it’s pointless.
I did. It wasn't this bad.

Wasn't my first choice, but I liked how he spoke, loved the set up and performance against PSG, but since then, for the most part it's been dreadful. It shouldn't be a chore to watch a game of football.

Absolutely. Glasner's a useless cunt who couldn't manage his way out of a paper bag let alone a conference league group stage. Nothing he does from now will ever change my mind :cautious:

I got called a cultist for saying that his football is shite. That was tongue in cheek.

Fucking Glasner lmao, the guy literally won like 4 of his first 20 matches as Palace manager, the reason why Palace are pushing on now is because he's bad the benefit of time which is exactly what Frank needs (good recruitment helps too) He was, like Iraola, able to coach his team mid week initially because he had no European distraction, unlike Frank has.

Can you people please be serious for once, Christ.

I have no problem with people having reservations about Frank as a manager and no problems with people truly believing he's the best manager for the job right now.

I, and many other people, are just weary of of people who are complete absolutists. Whether it's you and Meghst with your Chicken Little acts or ThinkTank and his ilk smearing anyone who expresses doubt as an "Ange apologist" (quite why anyone would need to apologise for a bloke who delivered a European trophy is beyond me but hey ho...)

Frank is doing his best with a limited squad just as Ange did before him.

The squad is the issue. Has been for years. And that was BEFORE we lost the two genuine world class stars we had.

Can we at least get to the annual Chav debacle before losing our collective shit please?
I just can't fathom that people are getting upset at the fact I want to see football that doesn't feel like cruel and unusual punishment to watch. That's all I'm asking for. I'm not saying we need to be blowing teams away and winning every game, that's not realistic.
But the players here are capable, and have played some good football here at times. But the football we're seeing now is devoid of any ideas at all. It's so turgid and performances have been getting worse. Even playing with two DM's we're giving up lots of chances. We spend huge parts of every single game on the back foot, and it doesn't look controlled like a Mou low block.

We have two games before the Chelsea game. If we don't get a win in either and go into the Chelsea game and get slapped, what then? The run gets harder for a few weeks, okay for a month and then brutal for February. We don't really have time to see how things go, we'll get dragged into the bottom half very soon IF we continue to play like this.

I'm not a cultist of anything. If we're playing well, I'll happily say we're playing well and be delighted, but if things are just really a bit shit, like they are now, then I have a right to call it out. I've spent money on the club for the first time in years because of the Levy decision and I liked how Frank talked. Genuinely thought he might be the guy to turn things around after initially not being my first choice. But as things stand, I can't help but feel it's the wrong move for coach and club.

What was your view on Nuno not getting time?

Do you think he should've been given more time? He got less backing, we weren't that far behind the top 4 when he got sacked, in next week's game week.

Pretty similar circumstances. Overachieved with a lesser club, but the football player here was pretty poor. So a very comparable situation.

Do you feel like he should've been given more time?

I think I wanted him out by this time but comparing Frank to Nuno is a false equivalence anyway, he had prime Kane and Son and his setup was accumulating barely any chances, seem to remember that Palace match where they smashed us 3-0 and we had something like 0.09xg or something shit like that, players didn't even turn up in the NLD which is simply unforgivable so he had to go.

Can't really judge Frank until he has some key players on the pitch at least, keep saying but removing 4 players who contributed 70% of the goal contributions last season is going to have a lasting effect.

He also had a dreadful backline, truly dreadful. There were lots of holes and flaws in that team. I too wanted him out because it was evident it was getting us nowhere. Then Conte came in and got us going really well pretty much overnight.

That was also the summer that Kane threw the toys out of the pram and didn't show up until Christmas really. So had that to content with.

Brentford lost pretty much all of their goals, 3 of their best players and are playing decent football.

My issue is that things don't look like they're improving. There's just nothing to take away from any of our games and think there's something there. Our injuries really aren't that bad, and certainly don't excuse how bad we've been. I don't want him sacked just yet, but of performances don't improve by December, with that run and then February's run looming, I think it'll be time to go. He just feels like the wrong fit for both him and club. We created 0.17xg from play against Villa 0.7 against a dreadful Monaco side who actually have half their first team out and didn't spend hundreds of millions on their team.

If we play like we did last night against Chelsea, with no fight or spirit, I think he should go.

Nuno was a dead man walking from day 1, everyone knew it, the players, the fans...the only reason he was hired is because we couldn't get Conte in initially and he was acting as a placeholder for him - Paratici had a bigger office than him and he told him to change his formation because his football was crap so again there's no point comparing, totally different circumstances.

Anyway I'm not superhigh on Frank and I think he's mis profiling our midfielders but the guy needs time because our squad is a mess and we have an injury crisis so I'm willing to give him that - I'm actually pretty fair to our managers, I was happy to give Ange time when it was probably time for him to be sacked, I was pretty fair to Nuno and Jose actually, I'm not one to want to throw the baby out the bathwater when we hit a rough patch and I'm definitely not fully judging Frank yet because he's been dealt a pretty shitty hand.
