Divine intervention?

What makes you say that? Apart from Monaco and Bournemouth, we have been pretty solid.

Villa required two moments of individual skill out of the blue to beat us, even against Wolves, it took vicario pushing the ball directly at Palinha for Wolves to get their goal.

And despite this, we still letting than less than one goal a game.

So what part of this is divine intervention?

Or is it Franks realisation that the our strongest part of the team is defence, so a good starting point.

Be solid, keep points ticking over, even if ugly and see if we can get something out of the shit show the rest of the squad is.

Whilst buying time to get to the transfer windows and start strengthen where needed most.

And be in a stronger position for the 2nd half of the season.

We have rough run of games coming up, be prepared for it to be ugly.
I was talking about the Monaco game. The user I replied to, using that as a catalyst for "hard to beat" is rather amusing. If we're as hard to beat as that going forward, eeeesh.

A Wolves team, certs to be relegated, a very average Villa side and those are games you're using. We've been absolute dross all over the pitch. Even playing with two DM's we're giving up loads of chances. We're nowhere near as good at the back as everyone here pretends we are, we've just been very lucky that we're keeping out goals at a silly rate, which is completely unsustainable.

Oh I'm prepared for it to be ugly. Don't need to tell me that, been saying it for weeks. I don't see us grinding out results given our recent performances, and the fact that they're against very good sides, unlike most of what we've played so far, we will concede goals.

I just don't see it turning around. Pray to God I'm wrong because I'm fed up of changing managers, but if this isn't working, it needs addressed before January, and giving another manager who'll be gone soon, more money to add to this Frankenstein squad.

So not letting in an average of 2+ goals a game to now being less than a goal game isn't a sign that things are slowly changing, then what it is?

On top of it being less than 3 months after one giant shit storm of a mess of epic proportions of a season, to what are you expecting, when Frank has inherited a Frankenstein squad? As you put it.

Unrealistic expectations? Yes

Tough, just gonna have to stop whining, because your unrealistic expectations are not being met, especially when you understand that Frank has a Frankenstein squad, with no real balance, or functional left hand side, as well as, a squad full off youngsters that require time to develop...

Whilst all the time, expected to compete in CL, PL, FA cup and League cup.

Seriously, no one knows how it will turn out, it's guess work on 50/50 chance it work or fail.

But the fact we are not on course to lose 22 games in fecking season is a big step forward.

There's a lot of ignorance on this forum regarding Frank.
The decently attacking and flowing Brentford from last season was after many years of Frank's hard graft of building them from the ground up, as he was to do with us. To expect us to play like prime Wissa, Mbuemo, Toney etc. inside 10 or so games, is absurd.
Brentford finished 10th mate. Frank's many years of hard graft with prime Wissa, Toney and Mbuemo and you say we can't be expected to play like that. They finished 10th.

I'd love for Frank to do well but people have to stop making things up about how good his record is. His actual managerial record is pretty shit, doesn't mean he won't be a decent manager and won't do well with us.

Do you know where Brentford were when he first joined them?

7th in the Championship.

His managerial record is shit?

Hard man to please.

Small sample size theatre but 💯 matches the eye test. The instructions are clearly to not pass through the middle of the pitch

maybe because we dont have a striker currently, who can play with with his back to goal without falling on the floor.

Frank might just be trying to avoid what was happening in the last 6 months of Anges first season when the ball would go through the Centre to Sonny/Richarlison and come straight back.

Lose today and I think he'll really be on borrowed time. He hasn't really provided any indication that there's some sort of plan or method.

I hope we go with a severely weakened team to St James', we really don't need that fixture right now

I hope not. I’ve been educated on here this week.

The Milk Cup not only represents our 2nd most likely chance of silverware it’s also one of the most prestigious trophies in world football.

And let’s face it we are not going to win the league, we are not going to win the CL.

Plus it’s actually harder to win the Milk cup than the FA cup where you can play non league teams. Who let’s face it are a bit shit.
Which is what devalues the Europa league. Playing a bit shit teams.

When you really think about it, that Milk Cup competition is actually the most important one we play in.

And we are playing the team who are ranked 83rd in Europe ffs!!
Not like we are playing 36th place Bodo or 44th place Copenhagen.

No excuses not to take them to the cleaners.

End of discussion. TFC logic has been used to its maximum.

What happened to the FA Cup?

100%

These are some of the teams the two finalists beat last year in their 12 games to reach the final
Salford City, Millwall, Doncaster Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, Stockport County. Leyton Orient.

That’s literally half their games right there.

Not one of these teams have ever qualified for the Europa conference league. That’s the standard we are talking. Joke competition just to give small clubs some money.

Plus the actual Winners get a whopping £2m quid.

For context Spurs make that amount selling sausage rolls and bagels*. The Greggs FA cup.

*maybe.
