Simple equation: lose to Newcastle and Chelsea then he's an anorexic, gum munching, banana eating, potassium deficient FRAUD who can GTFO OF MY CLUB 😡

Beat Newcastle and Chelsea and WE BUILD A STATUE IMMEDIATELY!:bentancurpoint:

Over to you Thomas :D

Actually just beat the Chavs and we start the statue foundations. Pricks.

If Lego Head has turned Scum into "Sangria Stoke" does this mean Frank's turning us into "Stegt flæsk Spurs" :frankpoint:

Welcome to the Brentfordification of Spurs.

Hey, some people will be happy. You could say Arteta is dominating the PL by being Brentford on a big budget.

Style>substance then? Who is playing great footy in the prem at the moment?

Like it or not this is how the league of set pieces and athletes and transitions. And it works. Pissing all over Europe in coefficients.

I’m glad we’ve embraced this.

Horrible to watch but sadly true.

Only a small handful of teams called PSG and probably Barca can combat this but even then you need serious technical ballers in your team who are able to constantly play through a press.

The current Champions and best in team in Europe haven’t embraced it.

The most dominent teams all over Europe in the last few years didn’t embrace it. They dominated using possession, offensive coaching of patterns of play and and aggressive counter press.

So it’s not purely style over substance. It’s about what pushes a team above the pack.

If we win the league doing it, I’ll acknowledge its efficacy, but watching us block 27 shots a game, whilst back passing our way up the pitch in the hope of winning a throw in 25 yards out, isn’t really my idea of enjoyment, or what I believe will win us a title.

Other opinions are available.

Yeah let’s emulate PSG .. unlimited budget and a piss league where they can rotate before every single champions league game haha. Ligue 1 is a holiday for them.

City have even changed to suit this league - only 53% possession vs Villa. They are very physical/transition heavy because Guardiola can see where this league is at.

We don’t have the personnel to play like Barcelona or PSG. It’s easy when Yamal, Pedri, Gavi, Cubarsi etc are ready made by your insane academy all trained to play that exact way.

Two things that I'd like TF to really focus on improving.

1. Limiting shots on goal. I'll never feel comfortable with allowing the number of shots that we do. We've been riding our luck pretty hard this season.

2. The pornographic displays that he puts on with his chewing gum. It's grotesque to watch. Surely the hardest working jaw in the League.

I cant get my head around how we' re meant to play this sublime free flowing football with who we currently have available. With Simons currently struggling to adapt, no other number 10, no real left winger and a batch of limited centre forwards surely its about making yourself difficult to beat and maximising your strengths rather than trying to get Tel, Johnson and Richarlison emulating Ginola, Bale and Berbatov. If after another 6, 12 months with better personnel we're still playing attritional football then maybe it would warrant more scrutiny. At the moment it just feels bizzare and largely seems to come from quarters (not just on here) who defended every shitshow over 17 months.

We concede a lot of shots because the ball doesn't stick to our forwards as it keeps coming back...waa similar with Ange - this should improve with better personnel and players who look after the ball better.

His extreme reliance on set pieces has little to do with the attacking personnel we have.

It's a case of if it ain't broke don't fix it, as part of a broader trend that is currently taking over the league. He'll ride this set piece train as long as it doesn't get nullified as, again, part of a broader defensive trend that would end this set piece mania in general.

He's just spamming a cheat code that doesn't seem to involve any major downsides, because who in his place wouldn't? He's neither crazy nor a genius for that. Whether or not he would be able to reinvent himself when the time comes is an open question, the one we also asked for the previous manager funnily enough.

Next season we will probably have the most powerful aerial defender in Europe in Vuskovic as part of the squad. It’s only going to get turbo charged.

On a certain level I understand this and agree with you, but I've been burned too many times before so I'm not going to trust blindly. Yeah we don't have the luxury of having seen our full starting 11 work under Frank yet, so I'm willing to play wait and see, but I'm still one that feels we're a bit too open. Counting on heroics from Vicario is not a great plan for winning games, and we're still not generating enough goals from open play to leave me completely comfortable, but at least there's a discernable system being deployed instead of "Angeball".
