Postecoglou taking the wrong job at the wrong time is a mark on his character and judgement for sure but I've never said he's not a egotist.

But anyone who took over from Nuno in that situation was going to fail. The players were never going to wear "the next guy". Now they have no option and are now playing to the level they should be.

Just like Frank walked into a bad situation having to take over from a manager whose players (rightly or wrongly) loved him for winning them something like he promised them.

I didn't say he was the answer. In fact I specifically stipulated otherwise.

My thesis was always simply this: the squad is not very good and it's likely Postecoglou has, if anything, overacheived in his time. 5th place and then a European Trophy is the very definition of that.

This is simply not true and you must know it. We just suffered our worst humiliation vs that lot in a decade. We performed better last season with Dragusin and Gray at CB. You shouldn't demean yourself by saying stuff you know is simply factually incorrect. Every single metric is currently red-lining at Spurs - we can't defend and we can't make chances.

Everything I warned about has come true. It was always the squad and "not" the manager. You know this.

You can’t just blame bad job choice. He used the squad terribly. The tactics didn’t work - the players have come out and said this. The same issues he had here he had there. And it’s a perfectly good squad to manage.

5th place was decent, European trophy is just spin, watch Forest under Dyche win it this season because .. it’s not that hard, English teams are miles above the mid tier of Europe. We had a piss easy draw to a final - nobody we played would finish top half in the prem. Doing that and finishing 17th on 38 points isn’t overachieving by any metric .

9th is better than 17th. Where we are in the CL is more impressive than the EL. He has no Maddison, Kulu, Solanke from the start so has his own injury issues he hasn’t complained about.

It was both - Ange isn’t fit to manage a top premier league side AND the squad is bad. His record in the premier league over a year and a half with two separate clubs is abysmal. A cup doesn’t wash that away. Ten Haag won United two cups.

Whether Frank is the guy or not, the precious guy definitely wasn’t. I don’t know who is. Frank probably deserves the season but he won’t get it by default because it just doesn’t work like that.

Iraola was the man, but as ever the club fucked it up and made the wrong choice.

We will bumble about with Frank, and we will watch Liverpool go and hire Iraola, or United or Chelsea, and watch them fly.

In dreamland we win our next 2 games and Frank is safe for xmas and beyond.
In reality I think we get booed on Saturday unless TF has a complete change of tactics.
I am not so sure our players are happy playing long ball.

they don't take him seriously and play shit
'playing shit' isnt a choice for a lot of them. we have a heap of shite who need to be shifted, not everyone is cut out for top level stuff, same with everything in life.

udogie= shit
danso= shit
bentancur= shit
odobert= shit
richarlison= shit

stick all that shit together and what do you think it will produce?? you guessed it

its ok tho, we got a keeper whos seriously gifted with his feet, taking free kicks on the halfway line...

One “trophy” in his entire career ( play off win for Championship )

Never managed a competitive European game.

Never managed a minute in the Champions League.

Never finished higher than 9th, average premier league finish 12th.

What is the most likely outcome here, 12th I’d suggest and no trophies.

Actually, what made them pick him in the first fucking place ? (££)

Tottenham record against chelsea and Woolwich particularly away is abysmal and this comes down to two reasons . To win at Woolwich you have to have a go like rednapp did when we last won there 2010. To win at chelsea you have to be prepared for a scrap like pochetino did with fiery players like Delli Alli in 2017. Playing 5 at the back today the blame must lay alot at the managers door despite injuries.. if we had lost by one goal today but had a right go at them I would not have complained one bit ...it was the performance that mattered today and spurs were lacking... I almost hope it all goes wrong for him against Fulham now !! Questions about whether his control of the dressing room is complete after what happened at the end of the chelsea game with van Derby ven aswell.

I think if we lose next week he’ll be sacked
Probably still unlikely but he will be under massive pressure if that happens.
- The home record has not improved since last season
- Multiple poor performances including the 4-1 drubbing today
- Lacklustre / boring style of play
- Incident with Spence and VDV after the Chavs game that could hint at issues behind the scenes.

I'm not saying I want him sacked but the problem is once the narrative builds, the discontent sets in and the team takes heavy defeats like today it's hard to shift the momentum back to the positive side. So if we dont get a positive result vs Fulham next Saturday it could get quite ugly.

I think these players are bored with him and his football tbh, the body language certainly suggests it.

Agreed. I have this feeling that Frank will actually lose the players and that may force a decision from the club more than them giving him time. Also, the fans will turn faster than they did with Ange. I don't mean the clued up ones, but the general masses. Like they did with Nuno.

The lack of shots on target, and the lack of commitment from the players in our two big London derbies is seriously concerning.

Ange hooked a lot of the fanbase in because attacking football or attempting to play on the front foot is easier to get behind and gives you hope, when you setup to contain and play reactively you can't get behind it unless you win matches and we aren't doing a lot of that at the moment.

I hope our players could be managed to play better than this or how they were against Chelsea. If not then the never ending
rebuild continues....
