Last time we had such an average group of players on balance

Same shit... couldn't defend, could not score, everyone lost tactically. No identity now, none then beside the sanctity of 442

No vibes this time though

Kudus... you beat the man and then turned around to go back and try and beat him again and then decided against it and just passed it short.

I watch you, but often don't understand you, buddy.

Just release the ball.
Everything you've said.

Ultimately it is because he still has a street ball mentality where he craves the "ooh and aahs" from fans who in turn are impressed by bullshit - look how they clapped like seals when he did a step - over 🙄....

Joke club.

I don't want Frank out as opposed to not thinking he will be here for much longer. Very different.

Nothing is working out for the bloke, and we are struggling.

Get thrashed by Newcastle and lose to Brrentford, and it is likely to be Game over in every sense.
So you don't to get rid of someone that is clearly not up to the task? It was very evident weeks and weeks ago it'd go this way. Guy is completely out of his depth, and we were lucky that we had:
A) An easy opening run of games.
B) Sheer blind luck that we were miraculously scoring and keeping clean sheets beyond what the metrics said. That was always going to end it has, in spectacular fashion.

I absolutely refuse to believe another manager couldn't get more from this squad. Yes the squad has some big issues that need fixing but there's enough there to see a lot more than what we're seeing.

They started yesterday like they were in a coma after all the talk all week.

He couldn't even get them to start fast out of the traps to give us hope of arresting this pitiful home record.

There's just so little evidence of coaching in the attacking sense other than long fucking throws.

It's not going to work. All for giving a manager plenty of time but who honestly wants to watch this for the rest of the season and into next one as well ?

And I don't think the players are happy with Frank; his coaching, methods and style of play. They even look disinterested at times.

If we keep Frank we're going to finish lower mid table grinding out results away from home with set pieces

We're Tottenham ffs.

Laughing stock playing trash football in this stadium. And we're the most boring side in the league.

I wanted Ange sacked but fuck me at least we played some good attacking football under him even if he didn't have the balance right.

I hope the sounding out of replacements is well under way

I wanted Nuno & Ange out early, not yet sure about this guy, But when you look back at it Conte was right Its comes from Levy & the board then the players here have it too easy
Now Levy has gone maybe its worth getting Conte back andgive him a free hand to sort out the whole club

I only dropped in to see how things were going in the Post-Ange era… and, right on cue, the oldest tune in football starts playing: “the coach is out of his depth.”

It’s a comforting story, but not a truthful one.

The coach is rarely the problem. What undoes teams like Spurs, Chelsea, Everton — take your pick — isn’t a lack of tactical IQ; it’s a lack of structural patience. You can’t change direction every 18 months and expect continuity. You can’t hire for one philosophy, sack it mid-cycle, and then complain the new one doesn’t “fit.”

Every manager inherits half a squad built for someone else, with a fanbase that’s been emotionally reset to zero. It’s not that they’re out of their depth — it’s that they’re swimming in a pool that keeps being drained and refilled.

Modern football’s biggest illusion is that “the right manager” can outthink instability. The truth is, even the best drown when the environment won’t hold.

And with Ange? They had someone who did have a plan. Maybe not perfect, maybe rough around the edges — but a clear, brave identity that needed time.. got a trophy- and was soley focused on that with all the injuries...

They fucked it with Ange.
Anyone can see that.
I agree with you. But not on your expected time for build-up.

In 18 to 24 months, you should be able see progress - we didn't under Ange. He was not tactically versatile enough for the Prem.

But Frank has been in the job for a few months. We can't expect him and the team to challenge for Top 4 when we're trying to implement a new philosophy. What we can expect, however, is that they fight there asses off.

There should be something, some way of playing, like anything after having a preseason, nevermind 13 league games. This guy is completely out of his element.

Fear, fear fear. In two months we will be in the top 8.

More than happy to take that bet with you.

Frank inherited an absolute shambles. So far he has improved things. And needs to keep improving.

Your hero has gone.

See you in a month when we're in 8th, looks like you were right and I was overreacting.

Neither did Poch... So what's your point?
Poch joined us in his early 40’s. Frank is in his early 50’s. This matters.
Poch devised a pressing game at Southampton that was innovative and aesthetically pleasing and meant he was going to get snapped up by a big club.
It’s taken Frank 10 years longer because his football has never been perceived as Poch’s was and no big club had been excited at what he might bring.

We can't expect him and the team to challenge for Top 4 when we're trying to implement a new philosophy.
The problem is, that philosophy is

1. Hoof it long
2. Don't commit more that 4 players forward in attack
3. Take at least 5 touches of the ball, and look for the safe pass
4. Sit back, and when the other team makes a mistake, don't get excited...just play it backwards.
5. Corners and throw ins......now we're talking!!!
6. How about 4-4-2? Nobody will be expecting that!

I sympathise with Frank because he’s been given such an average squad to work with and the few decent attackers are all injured.

But the football being produced isn’t acceptable. There’s no variation in our play, we just spam crosses into the box and hope for the best. It’s like Moyes at United all over again, it’s so easy to defend against.

The constant fiddling with our lineups isn’t helping either, he needs to decide on his best XI and keep it the same for a few weeks. Let the players build some understanding with each other. Tinkering to the extent he is just makes things harder.

To have any success a team needs to play with courage, the tactical element is always secondary, and I’m not sure Frank is a courageous manager. You don’t have to be a lunatic like Ange but your players have to feel brave enough to actually take risks with the ball. At the moment we clearly don’t.

His philosophy is not suited to a big 6 club who should be expected to dominate most of the opposition they face rather than approaching each game as the under dog hoping to nick results against the run of play.
He was a shocking appointment.
. The club needs to raise its standards, starting with the manager, or things are gonna get very ugly, very quickly and stadium will be half empty.

I think that’s part of the problem for sure. Frank has worked out which ones he knows are shit. It’s why we haven’t seen Tel and Johnson. I suspect it is why he is having to constantly rotate the team. It is because he is looking for the best fit of players but they keep letting him down.

It all goes back to recruitment and levy being a tight fucker.
