I'm tempted to agree with you. Every game is littered with poor passes and slow decision-making. You can't fly to Mars in a clapped out Ford Anglia.
They aren’t awful or useless, just not good enough at key aspects to play for a top 6 side. Paulina makes my eyes bleed, hapless but could play a squad role to close out games but as a starter? Worse than PEH

I don't agree with you or anyone saying the players are poor. It's a fallacy created from anger and disappointment.

What we have are players playing with low confidence, and what appears to be a manager they have either never respected or have quickly lost respect for.

That can create all manner of negatives, both in play and attitudes.

It was less lkeky to happen at Brentford where Frank was the Lord and players wanted to play for him. For whatever reason it looks like it's very different with us.
They are poor at aspects of the game. It’s not a lack of confidence, Richy can’t control a ball or play quickly and the other pace.

Fine. I disagree. I believe that this:

was the single most important monkey to get off our backs. And we did it. And if it cost us 17th over a top half league finish I would snap your hand off for the chance to do it all over again.

It's quite bizarre anyone would think otherwise.
Sigh

I'm saying anyone with a so-called winners mentality should be trying to instill a culture of winning, every game matters. Writing off almost an entire league season and acceptance of losing week in week out isn't it.

Yes he was a good motivator for big one off games. I just doubt this winners mentality shit that gets spouted so frequently

I’ve said it before, but I just found the fanfare around his appointment in the summer to be nothing short of extraordinary.

Journalists, and respectable ones at that, were speaking about this appointment as if we had snared the next great footballing mind as our manager. To this day, I still am completely unsighted as to how they came to this conclusion.

Then you have Levy and Vinai and their infamous “Thomas came out on top of every metric to be a Tottenham manager” nonsense.
Did he really? I would absolutely love to have seen those KPI’s.

The guy was in charge or Brentford for 4 years in the PL. Throughout those 4 years, they punched above their weight and did well to avoid relegation but..
Did they have any noticeable and admirable style/philosophy? No.
Did you ever fear playing them? No (we beat them twice last year in our worst ever PL season ffs)
Did Frank exude traits of a strong personality/charismatic leader? No.
Did he bring through youth players there and turn them into PL players? No.
Did he manage big personalities and get the best out of them? No.

I’m sure there’s plenty more I could go through - bottom line, I think people need to have a bit of a reality check when assessing this guy, because I really would be lying if I said I’m surprised at how this appointment is transpiring.

This “tactically flexible demon” image of Frank we were sold, as if we were getting a guy that had been bossing the is nothing more than utter horseshit and propaganda sold to us.

People compared this guy to when we got Poch from Southampton, you would do well to find a bigger chalk and cheese comparison in any walk of life.
Marco Silva, who was overlooked for the job in favour of Frank, would have been a far, far better appointment and made Frank look like an intern with his iPad on the touchline last night.

Frank is Nuno 2.0 and we need to act fast because the season is still there to be saved.
Funny thing is hardly anybody on here wanted him until it became apparent that it was him we were getting.
Then everyone started pretending he was some master tactician and we'd pulled off some kind of coup.
I still can't understand what the club was thinking in appointing this guy so soon after the Nuno debacle. It's beyond ludicrous.
It's a farce.

It was a desperate action from a man more committed to protecting his “always win in the second season”. It’s why he lost his job.

|This is a different argument to the one JimothyCF14 JimothyCF14 was making though.

As stipulated if YOU would prefer to give up that Trophy for a top half league finish then that's entirely your bag.

I think it's insane. But you're free to feel that way, I guess.

Yeah and it helped us a lot as we can see now. We're still the laughing stock of the PL and nobody cares that we won it outside of our club (and yes, it was great for me and of course I celebrated it. but still far below Amsterdam).

Well, it certainly helps cheer me up when I'm watching us get regularly thrashed this season. But if you want to start a petition to go back in time and ditch the Europa League Trophy for a top half finish - knock yourself out.

I am sorry I am not having this blaming the fan base, or the fan base is toxic. Absolute bollocks. We have one of the most patient fan bases around. All fanbases act like cunts if the team is utter garbage.

Do you honestly think the scum fan base deserve their team right now? Look at AFTV for the last decade. They hated the team, the board, protests, slagging the players off. Now they are all loving it because their team has bollocks and are actually good.

It all stems from the manager and the players. It is on them to give the crowd a boost and the crowd will then return in kind.

What did the crowd do to warrant being 2 nil down last night? What did the away fans do to deserve being battered by Woolwich? What did the home fans do to deserve seeing the team not lay a glove on Chelsea for 90 minutes? The crowd were fine before kick off, and then the joy is sucked out of the crowd by the utter shit team they have to watch.

People go on about Liverpool fans. It's easy to be the best fans in the country when you're winning. Watch now they are struggling, how toxic it gets up there.

In essence, blaming the fans is bollocks. It has nothing to do with the fans, and they have a right to boo Vicario. He needs to grow some bollocks. Wtf was he thinking? the most braindead decision I've ever seen.

Fuck the players and fuck Frank. We will be here long after they've all fucked off.
Hear hear well said 💪

You’re justifying the poor league form on the inability to play the first choice back five are you not?

I’m pointing out the tactics were the reason they required nursing and wrapping in cotton wool in the first place.

Nope. I was pointing out that Jimothy's thesis was incorrect and the evidence clearly shows that we sacrificed the league in the last three months of the season to give ourselves the best chance at EL. A policy that was successful.

I didn't make any comment about what happened previously to get us to a position where such a choice had to be made. 🤷‍♂️
