Or what?

There are plenty of proper fans who'd love to have Ange back. Fans who believe in attacking football and winning trophies.

Nothing wrong with that.
Just looking back at some of our matches last season where we were "attacking". Many of the xG stats were hovering around 1, often less. Just like now.

So again, what is this "attacking football" Ange was meant to be famous for?

If we want attacking football and trophies then Ange is not the answer. Frank probably isn't either, but appointing Ange again would be suicide

Maybe. It still doesn't make Ange the answer.
Ange was never the answer.

He was part of the problem.

He had to take the job once he was offered it and probably agreed to every condition placed upon him by the miser to get his chance.

Spurs need someone who is available and will command the respect of the players.

Michael Carrick would be my pick for interim until the end of the season.

Frank has lost the respect of the players and now the supporters in 6 months.

This team drew with Wolves, at home, and they should have lost.

Fulham were near the bottom before they took the points at the weekend.

This team are relegation candidates.

Toon will confirm this for you tomorrow if you have any remaining doubts.

Some of us have seen this before.
We drew at home to Wolves last season too with an xG of under 1.

Ok so Fulham, we managed a draw at home last season with an amazing three shots on target.

We lost to Newcastle home and away last season.

We are shite this season. We were shite last season. Frank should be doing better but we're no worse than last season. We are also just not better, and that there is no disputing.

Henry has a story about when he first rocked up to Barcelona.. He saw the "More than a Club" motto written in the stadium and mocked it openly.. Xavi pulled him aside and bollocked him. Telling him to never mock my club again.

When Jose was here, Winks was linked with a move away. His response was a categorical no. He said that we need Tottenham blood in the dressing room.

I think what we're seeing now could be partially due to the fact that we no longer have any prominent players in the dressing who love the club unconditionally, who will set a standard and will defend the club above any intrasquad friendships.

We have players who say they love the club and fans. But they mean they love us when we're lining streets and showering them with adoration. Sonny and Ryan Mason were the last prominent voices in the dressing room that loved Spurs unconditionally. And they left in the summer.

Ange was one of the worst managers in Spurs history and was rightfully sacked.

Frank hasn't improved it since then. Using 17th as a reference point by Frank last week was concerning, because the whole reason Frank got the job was because 17th was a freak season, the worst in living memory, and Ange was sacked for it.

So to then come in and say "this team finished 17th last season" is really worrying. The reality is, this squad is easily a top 8 squad. With an excellent manager it could fight for top 4.

Yes, there are players who need to be moved on, but with a proper manager, with proper coaching, you can get a team with even some pony players like Porro, Johnson, Odobert, Richarlison, Bentancur and Vicario to do better than we are this season.

We see it every season in the PL, managers having teams punching above their weight. We are punching under our weight.

Listening to Frank now in his PC.

He is so uninspiring.

Answering about the fan base issue again, and he has said the team needs the fans. Yes that's correct, but it's upto the players to galvanise the crowd by starting fast and showing intesity and energy.

The crowd is how it is because of an underperforming team being beaten by teams at home who are inferior quality wise.

That is the issue.

We are shit.

We deserve to be where we are.

The denial about this is just mad.

None of these players get into Poch's starting 11.

No fight, no pride, no bottle.

It's so basic and obvious.

My point is we are better than 3 wins in 22 odd games at home.

We showed at Man City away that this team can be excellent on it's day. Yes inconsistent, but it all points to a mentality issue. Yes we aren't a CL quality squad, no doubt about it. But we are definitely punching under our weight, which is relegation form at home.

I agree with the overall sentiment but not that bit in bold.

It’s nowhere near a top 4 squad. I keep saying this but many of our fans over-rate our players massively.

Many of them would get nowhere near any top 4 team. Not even close.

I'm not banging the Thomas the Frank engine drum here.
I'm merely pointing out that we're not worse than we were.
In absolutely no way shape or form should anyone be contemplating the idea we should have kept, or go back to, Ange.

It's the performances as well as the results.

I think this team can go down.

The drop off under Frank has been rapid.

Maybe. It still doesn't make Ange the answer.

Of course it doesn't but the smallish number people (I'm not one of them) who want Postecoglou back were told that he was the single biggest problem at Spurs last year (with the possible exception of Levy).

They were abused for simply supporting the manager then told the EL was no significant achievement, and mocked for thinking there might not be immediate improvement in all levels of our League form once he was replaced "by any half decent manager".

Well it's December 1, and it's as bad as the Stellini/Mason era in terms of results and eye test and metrics. Is Frank that bad a manager? Course not. But to the people who were abused for supporting the last manager May 25 seems like a fucking golden age compared to the last month.

So while they are almost certainly wrong to want Postecoglou back, you can understand why they might feel the way they do? Even if you disagree why do you get so angry that they feel that way?

And it might be nice if the people who heaped abuse on those supporters acknowledged that they might - just might - have got it a tiny bit wrong too. That our woes run far deeper than a simple change of manager.

Yeah I agree that our players wouldn't get into a top 4 team.

And I agree our fanbase overrate our fans massively.

I still think a top manager can have us fighting in and around the top 6.
