Nobody wants Frank to fail, or at least I would like to think that is the case.

It's always hope that keeps people going in whatever walk of life, and through all manner of difficulty. Sometimes forlorn but hope nonetheless.

Sunday was so bad as to leave fans as though the Dracule had been allowed to drain the blood with gay abandon.

I don't want Frank to be dismissed and of course the club needs stability as that underpin for better things.

But Frank surely has to provide something that resembles the capacity to provide a positive impact on the pitch that matches whatever he offered at interview.

Very few managers guarantee success but I genuinely thought Frank would bring order and an end to the dross. No sign as yet.

Surely something needs to resemble improvement in the next 3 games and I think Frank needs to start taking some personnel decisions because some of the players can't cope with the demand. Maybe it is the same for Frank.

Dross squad. Spending needed.

I thought maybe one of the Problems Frank has is we are playing so often he isn't getting much time with the squad in training to try and get his ideas across, but we had 5 days to prepare for Forest and we looked worse for it! Lets see what we do this week in prep for Liverpool

Nothing out of the ordinary there... answering questions honestly which is quite refreshing. Not sure why Frank will be angry about that... honestly, I'm sure Micky is not the least bit concerned about Frank's reaction otherwise he wouldn't do the interview. It already feels like a number of players have disengaged from Frank's way and as Micky points out if one player is 90% you're probably going to lose. I feel like we have several players going through the motions most games hence why we lose a lot.

Are we?

The barometer of 'bigger club' is always open to varied metric interpretations, but for me it's if a player is joining a club as a starting 11 player, who would they choose?

We probably pay a bit more in salaries but think we're on a a reasonably level field with them.
The barometer is weighed in our favour both historically and in recent history. Newcastle have been relegated is it three times from the Premier League, and, up until this year, hadn't won a trophy for almost 70 years. They are a one team city, so the impression is that they're they're big but we're selling out a 62k stadium whilst having Chelsea, Woolwich and West Ham, let alone Palace, Brentford, Fulham on our doorstep. It's not close, for me. And, until the Saudi's came along Newcastle were on the cusp of implosion.

Like I was saying yesterday, I anticipate he's working solely on defensive shape and trying to contain Liverpool and I think that will prove to be his undoing

I genuinely hope to be proven wrong, Id love to see us come out swinging more

Who actually gives 100pc all or almost all of the time at this club.

I'd say (being a bit generous):

- VdV
- Bergvall
- Gray
- RKM
- JP
- Xavi
- Ben D
- Kulu
- Madders
- Maybe Tel and Odobert, despite not being very good?

Beyond that no-one. Get rid of the rest.

Seriously, as well as a new coach, we need a cathartic mass clear out.

There's something about a large percentage of our performances that makes me feel that Frank can't sell himself and his philosophy to a number of this current squad.
Point! He may have lost the dressing room already?

I think it’s clear they don’t rate him.

They clearly loved Ange. We hated the results - but they clearly bought into him. And Frank isn’t him and they probably think “the fuck is this bollocks” whilst stifling us offensively.

Is it really that bad? I'd argue that our back 4 and the likes of Kudus and Simons would start for most teams outside the top 3. We do have some decent depth when you consider the likes of Palhinha can't get a game atm. Surely these players are better than where we are at?

I don't think our team or squad is good enough to be competing for top 4, but we shouldn't be getting played off the park by Nottingham Forest who had less rest than us. To me, the manager is completely failing. We have no good patterns on the ball or any real style of play. I do think some of our players would walk into top sides and play very well.

You had one manager who was telling his players they can beat anyone and attack anyone. Now you've a totally different manager who's giving them video analysis on how to stop teams like Bodo and Copenhagen from hurting them. Its a totally different approach and the extreme difference can't be easy for the players. You were going out on the pitch last year being told to attack every opposition and never show fear. Now you are going out petrified of their best players and focusing on how to stop them hurting you.

The hope and idea was that Frank would adapt from his Brentford approach. Yes, he'll bring the much needed tactical approach to adapt to our opposition, but the idea was he'd work on the aggressive attacking approach which we'd already built under Ange. Instead he's just gone all in on the pragmatic approach and its just made the whole thing a mess. Players are going out with no freedom now and its the complete opposite to last year. All we needed was a balance. Instead we've gone from one extreme to the other. Frank has so fair completely failed and needs to find a style of play with a balanced approach ASAP.

If true what did they expect pep style city or barca.
How about just getting wingers to go down byline and cross.

I think he's a poor source. Been following him for a while. He got a good bit right during the summer and was verified by Ornstein but since then he's got an awful lot wrong and has been trolling on some occasions. He's even giving line up leaks and getting them wrong. I think he's just making educated guesses and passing it off as inside info.

He's engagement farming, just dresses up his stories as fan fiction and waits for the clicks, I think he does get bits of info but not as much he makes out, guys a berk

Yeah they loved Ange because he was a supply teacher and they could piss around without consequence, no prep, no dull videos, not dropped if shit. Now they have the complete opposite but Frank just doesnt have the 'show us yer medals' gravitas to get any buy in. I'm sure they hate it and it shows. However a lot of these players ard now on their 3rd manager with us and need to look in the mirror.

I think the Bournemouth game early in the season was a disaster for Frank. He admitted himself that he got the tactics and approach all wrong that day. It was only 4 games in and our first defeat under Frank, but I think the players would have began questioning him then. I know as a supporter I did anyway! I came away with a theory that I'd prefer to have ange in charge for all home games and Frank in charge for all our away games lol

Home to Bournemouth under Ange, you just keep it simple - go out and dominate the ball and get the crowd on your side early. You don't need to overthink that game or go in with a complicated plan. However, Frank admits they got the game plan wrong and I'd imagine most players questioned why there was even need for a complex gameplan in such a fixture. To an extent I'd agree, at home we should just have our own style of play and back ourselves. Away from home or against superior opposition it makes sense to have a more complex gameplan to stop the opposition.

I think ever since then there has been a feeling that Frank has taken away all our freedom and we are nearly going into every game with too much detail and too much respect for the opposition. He hasn't nailed the balance. His approach worked wonders against PSG and City, and we played more open against Burnley in our opening league game, so the first 3 games was so positive and it felt like Frank could adapt a pragmatic approach against top teams but let us play with freedom against inferior opposition. But that 4th game against Bournemouth was so damaging and since then I don't think the manager has been on the same wavelength as the players and supporters.
