Maddison and Kulusevski are there, just injured, BJ is there, not playing.

I mean, we had no defence last season at all except for Porro and we conceded less goals, so it works both ways. Doesn't make up for losing over half your goals.

I guess it all depends on your own definition of “the same attack” as you called it.

As Son, Kulu and Maddison haven’t played one minute of premier league football this season and Solanke has played 31 minutes, if you’re wondering why “the same” 4 players aren’t scoring goals, well I have my own theory on this.

And we had no defence except Porro for a season?????
Do you do heavy amounts of LSD in your spare time or something??

Romero and VDV got injured 08/12. By which time we had already lost 7 games. All of them only by the odd goal.
That’s when we started leaking a few more goals.

But was in April the floodgates opened when Ange decided not to play VDV and Romero together in the league again. And rest anyone he thought vital to the Europa league cause.

Centre backs of Davies and Danso instead …….FML.

Someone said to me the other day, not on here but on another platform, that the reason Postecoglou failed at Forest was because the players had been conditioned to play defensively by Nuno, and that's why they're more suited to Dyche's tactics.
He also had his best defender injured and previous season's top scorer kept missing sitters.
And obviously the players didn't like him (especially after telling them that their previous season's achievement wasn't worth anything).

I was impressed by the Leeds United supporters when I watched one of their matches on TV a couple of weeks ago, our supporters seem to be a lot more reserved, and I don't like the trumpet player tooting out the Marching In song, it's like a feckin' funeral. The song only works when something on the pitch induces the supporters to start singing.
Agree! That bloody trumpet playing "anthem" thing is complete shite and embarrassing.

Fuck me I wouldn't want to be the psychiatrist asking Rooster the 2nd to point out on the doll where big bad Ange touched him...

Years of therapy incoming...

I think I can handle lower league positions if I was entertained. A few pulsating 2-2, or 3-3 draws, where we score and look like scoring. Anything to get some excitement, because the stats show that it's just not happening.

The playing style is dull, and the players, man for man, are better than the team is showing, so any manager who can get them working together and provide us with some entertainment, works for me. I recently saw Palace, Fulham and Bournemouth on TV, and their football was a lot more entertaining than our football. Perhaps that suggests Glasner or Iraola, or their like.
Bielsa was entertaining until he wasn't. Postecoglou's flying circus crashed. Frank's teams elsewhere were not boring. I don't think what we're seeing now is a finished product that reflects the ball he wants to play.

Yea.. and Frank season has not ended. We are still in the CL and FA cup..... so why the hell are you not waiting like you did for Ange?

Like for like comparison would be the first year: under Postecoglous we were top 4 for much of the season and "fell" to fifth at the end. No Kane and a raft injuries too. After 16 games in the second season , Postecoglou beats Frank in nearly every single metric. Plus we had a real chance of winning the Europa.

Having said that, I will say this. The time Frank has had is relatively short. The issue is by now there should be clear patterns of play, of which it seems crosses and bypassing the midfield are the pattern of play. The football is rubbish. I no longer watch matches live-not waking in some ungoldy hour to watch Frank Dross.

He is reported to change tactics minutes before the kick off when the opposition anounces their eleven. To me it suggests he doesn't actually have a way of how*he* wants to play because he is just reacting to the opposition.

The issue with Ange was that everyone was waiting for the false hope that we'd suddenly start playing like those first 2 months again. I reckon he'd have been binned much sooner, but the reality is that he dined out both literally and statistically off the first couple of months of his tenure, and survived purely on the basis (by board and fans) that it would return to that way.

The injuries were just a distraction for what was actually going on - that the league had clocked on not only to his style of play, but to his dumbass declaration that he wouldn't change the tactics in any way. So the other manager did exactly what you'd expect them to, and just set up to completely ruin his one game plan.

The only person that didn't do that was Ten Hag, because in a room of stupid incompetent people, he's remarkably the one licking the plug sockets

We also won our first trophy in decades and the team should be on a high and motivated. We will win nothing under Frank.
High note?!
We got 17th...the manager got sacked...one of our greatest legend just left last year.....Levy got sacked and management changes.... We didn't get the players the manager wanted off season.....I think that is a tough situation for a new manager don't you think?

Gerry francis was like that back in day. More concerned about the opposition than us. An element you have to be and the bigger games more so. Atm im not seeing an upward trajectory or direction of travel just inconsistency. To be fair he inherited richarlison who is shit, solanke who is injury prone and mediocre anyway. However frank is paid 8m a year to manage it. Woolwich and forest away was car crash. Not acceptable imo.

The writing was on the wall when we finished poorly in the 23/24 season after everyone returned from their injuries. We looked worse than we did to start the season, and the form never improved.

Everyone knows there was a context around the 17 th finish.

IMO Postecoglou's situation was tougher with the way Conte left the club, and then Kane leaving literally on the eve of the season kick off. The whole thing was toxic.

Frank inherited a squad with high morale and unity. He has had the back 5 or 6 more or less available. He's had additions that make this team stronger eg Muani, Kudus and Palinha are up-grades (IF he used them properly...) or on par with the injured outs. He now has Bergvall and Gray with valuable experience under their belts. Richarlison is in a better place.

Let me put this way: there is no way that Postecoglou would have survived his first season if he was where we are now with Frank. No way.
