From memory of seeing Poch’s, it looked like Ange’s 23/24 but obviously for a longer period until things tailed off in his last season.

I’m not really a XG person but I like looking at the long term evidence as you can see the precise moments it went wrong in all examples. For Poch it changed the day v Burnley away when we lost and Mike Dean said something to wind him up.

The home loss to Wolves in Dec '18 was the day it started to go pear-shaped for Poch.

1-0 up and cruising 2 points off top....... Conceded 3 in quick succession with 10 mins to go.

We were toiling ever since.

Nah. It started to go wrong a few months earlier when he became the first (and only) top flight manager in any major European league to go a whole summer window without a single re-enforcement.
Let's not start airbrushing that from the history books, matey.

I can't quite get my head around his recent comments, he must know we're all watching the same matches, yet he's stating the players are getting better with regards to his way of the game.

So it's as though everyone else that is watching has it all wrong, and the team are actually doing quite well.

It's like going to the tailors and trying on a shabby and ill-fitting suit, and the tailor stating it fits fine. It wouldn't just be the craftmanship that was concerning but also the tailor's perception of what constitutes a good fit.

We were 6th in November 2024 and 4 points off 2nd place in the table.

You don't need a crystal ball to see into a timeline where you, as one of the most feverant anti-Levy posters on here, would try and hang him for sacking a manager for that
We're only 5 points off 5th right now.

We were as close to the bottom 3 as the top 4 back than IIRC, but the Angebois were insisting the selection of stats they relied on proved we should have been higher.
Those of us who went to games knew that was it. We were sussed.

Ange was well overdue being sacked by the end of 2024. It wasn't that long ago. I remember being in disbelief that he somehow survived the sack over that November / Christmas period and I was more and more stunned every week after that that he survived.

The reality is, the only thing that kept Ange in the job was that we made it to the League Cup semi final, beat Liverpool in the first leg, and we were still in Europe with a good chance of winning it.

But make no mistake, it was abundently clear by Christmas 2024 that Ange was an absolute charalatan and the whole thing was finished. We were sinking in the league like a stone.

This is such a big match for Frank, today. And interestingly enough, it’s not about win or lose. It’s going to be all about the style of play and the motivation of the players.

Yep. A loss would be really fucking bad make no mistake, but if we go down fighting in a tight game, taking it to them and we actually look like a proper football side, then I think everyone will be happy to give Frank the next game and won't go crazy at it.

But if its anywhere near a repeat of the Bournemouth, Woolwich, Chelsea games, then sorry but he has to go.

He needs to get the line up and subs right as well.

Unfortunately I have actually no faith at all and I think today will further cement the fact that Frank is not the man and we are heading into trouble if he stays.

Why would a keeper correlate to XG created or conceded?

They're generally a link in the chain after the later and unrelated to the former unless they're super-good with their distribution (which he isn't).

Going from a keeper who is relatively okay at playing out the back to keeper(s) who are bad at playing out the back generally means you'll create less and conceding more chances because yoi aren't keeping the ball.

I'd say it's exactly why the fan base has to change more than the club does. People expect one window and 3 months of a season to be enough to turn a 22 loss league season finishing 17th into a title challenge. They expect someone to suddenly fix something Ange broke and didn't show the slightest glimpse of in the last 6 months of his reign. Everything seems to gravitate back to a minor glimpse of form that was shown at the beginning of the reign that, even as Forest showed, just doesn't work in this league.

The issue and difference now is that Frank seems to not have the support of the players. It generally seems like something is not clicking. So the most part of the dissent for his management, from fans, is that there's not particularly any 'hope' on offer - something that has never been an issue, even now, for the postecoglou cult - because he dealt that drug very early and everyone's been clucking for it ever since.

If we had prime tottenham attacking football in the first few games and lost it, people would have more hope. I don't think having 3 of our starting forwards from last season out long term has helped that though

If there weren't injuries (that he was at least partly at fault for) then I think it would have happened.

There was always a someone plausible excuse each time for ange. But he's shown he can challenge with this team, but the football is good, but injuries, but second season cup mate, but league cup, but we beat liverpool in the first leg, but Levy, but given him another £300m...

I would like to see 2 or 3 changes from last week. It was atrocious and changing nothing is allowing one of the worst displays. I can recall to go unpunished in all its aspects.

Let's see what 6 days on the training ground bring.

I expect very little., sadly.
