This argument will never end. You just see how defensive his bench was last night and how defensive he started the first XI to know there wasn't any creativity and attacking implementation in his mind at all. All the while letting Brennan go AND considering Tel to go on loan. Mind-blowing...
( Him not you)Pretty much where i'm at. You can sort of see the point that we are keeping things tight as we are so devoid in the front 4 and even passers in central midfield. This team is not capable of scoring 2 or 3 against all but the real dregs. But we're showing nothing, this is George Graham level stuff, only not as strong defensively. I just cant see, even with better players that we will be competitive under this manager in 12 months time so whats the point? To me it now feels like he's a caretaker manager and we're just waiting for something to happen. Have to say though whoever comes in is still going to need to clearout pretty much every attacking player we have as they wouldnt attract interest from any top 8 side.I was willing to give Frank the benefit of the doubt with the shite players he has at his disposal; missing Solanke, Kulusevski and Maddison with Son also going has obviously had a massive impact on our attacking play. Unfortunately though, everything I have seen from his setup and gameplan with the underwhelming options he does have at his disposal is absolutely that of a sunday league team.
The hoofball, hit and hope, win duels and cross over and over shit is just pathetic. There is no nuance to that play. We are unable to progress the ball in any sophisticated manner, and what is worse it looks like we have actually abandoned trying to play through a team, in favour of just hitting long and hoping that Richarlison the human trampoline can bounce it on to another Spurs shirt.
Defensively it's not even worth the hit we have taken to our attack, as most games we look very likely to concede at any given moment. If we were looking like a well drilled and unbeatable back line then fine, try and sit and soak, but that's not us either. Our centre backs are not great box defenders, they are open field defenders. We don't have any sort of real counter-attacking threat either as our players are either not fast enough (Richy/Odobert/Xavi) or not smart enough (Kudus) to produce a counter attack of any note. The tactics are mismatched.
All in all I can't continue to have faith that Frank is just going to magically amend this mess if he has one or two extra players recruited or come back from injury. If the guy can't play any sort of coherent football with the current group of players then it's sure as shit not going to turn into Champions League quality if we have Kulusevski or Dom Solanke come back. We are far too far off it.
Chaos munchers? Harsh.Pointless trying to be rational now. The chaos munchers want another manager sacked after 6 months without our best attackers. The football is shit but yesterday really isn’t one to complain about.
I suspect we’ll lose to Sunderland though at the weekend, they look like the kind of team that would beat most spurs teams at home (remember Stoke under Pulis but with a bit more about them). So that will be fun on the internet afterwards! Had we lost one of the last two and then that I think he’d be gone but I still see this Sunderland game as pivotal for him internally and externally.
The last sentence is spot on... give me hope and chaos over what we have right now...Chaos munchers? Harsh.
I want him gone today. I think he’s useless. Doesn’t mean I want chaos. I’ve spent years on here defending managers until the death, did it with the last guy too. Stability is the way forward and that’s been proven over and over again. Disregarding Chelsea, every other successful side has had stability.
But it has to be with someone who shows something. Anything. Any improvement. And having more clean sheets and conceding a few less goals with a pretty consistently fit back five and a DM in front of them isn’t enough.
Sunderland have lost half their team to AFCON. we shouldn’t be considering not beating them, but are almost expecting defeat. It’s not good enough man.
He needs to go. And quickly. If it causes chaos, so be it, but it’ll also cause hope. I have none of that right now.
That is a really simple question... I am surprised you don't know the answer...We can change manager yet again (and I'm really tempted to pull that trigger) but until we get the answer as to how Spurs consistently assemble squads with incredibly poor mentality then history will simply repeat itself. Over the last 10 or so years we have tried every single kind of manager. The situation needs more than bringing a new bloke in.
Maybe don't start 7 defensive players then you Mug!!!( Him not you)

I hope he is backed in Jan as long as recruitment don't again fuck things up. We desperately need better players irrespective of who the coach is. The whole "wrong players" thing is generally overdone. If he gets top 8 then IMO he deserves another season, but if not, sack him in the summer (assuming we don't somehow win a cup).Frank doesn't know who his best players are at each position. He doesn't seem to be able to recognize when certain combinations are working better than others. He doesn't seem to have a coherent vision on how to use our young talent, or how they should be developed.
I can't see him fixing any of this either. I really hope the board/exec don't plan to give him significant funds to spend, though he needs it.
Seems like we are going to drift around this level for awhile, while something percolates around in the backroom with the exec and board. Feels like we're in the doldrums like in the AVB/Sherwood era.
