Btw my wife watched 4 Spurs games with me at home during all those years.

Final in Madrid, final in Bilbao, and then games against CP and Brentford.

She says she will be next to me also when we will play against Sunderland. One could say its Frank magic. But deeply inside i think she feels sorry for me.

Can we put her name in for the Next Manager thread? :D

That Frank must know what the club stand for, whether that is justified or not, and that what is being dished-up is in no way compatible to a sustained period in charge. It just can't be.
If you look at the stats it’s not compatible with a top half finish. Let alone where we want to be.

There are no passing triangles, no people showing for the ball, no shooting from distance. It’s literally “safe” passes in the centre and moving the ball wide. Then hoping to cross, which we more often than not do not have the bodies in the box to challenge for.

Kudus is playing like a hero most of the time unwilling to pass as the tactic is clearly not to release runners which is mad when we have Xavi, Bergvall, and Kudus in the side who can all find people.

I’m also convinced that Tel must be banging Mrs. Frank for how little game time he is getting.

I think I get the gist of your post but it maybe lost me a little.

I agree with the primary message that it is not compatible with where we should be aiming for a club our size, and I also believe the players are far better than what we are witnessing.

If you coach players in a particular way, send messages of fear and inferiority to them whoever they face and talk it seems relentlessly about set-pieces, then the output reflects exactly that. Drivel.

Arteta. Pep. Unai. Slot. Le Bris. Moyes. Glasner. Silva. Howe. Hurzeler. Iraola. Dyche. Nuno...that's 13 PL managers who are undoubtedly better than Frank.

Probably can add Maresca and Amorim to the list, though Chelsea & especially United aren't what they used to be, but I think it's mostly on the execs at them clubs.

Think Frank is down there with Andrews (who is a newbie), Scotty Parker (who has no money) and Farke.

Rob Edwards
is probably the only manager he's ahead of, but then again the guy's only managed Luton & Wolves in the PL...and both squads were so short on quality.

Regardless of whether or he's our guy; this is bollocks.... He's already shown he can successfully manage at the same level that most of these guys cap out at (be that league position or brand of football).

Pound for pound, Maresca & Amorim haven't proven the contrary in the prem either.

That’s not what I was getting at. I think he knows full well what our style of football is.

He paused significantly and was very careful with what he said about what was needed to play free-flowing football.

I took it that he was looking for the diplomatic way of putting it across rather than just saying ‘technically better players!’

Okay, I don't accept it.

There are so-called lesser teams with far less costly players who are able to play cohesively

PS.... how many of our players play for their national sides?

When we hired frank my old man phoned me and said not sure about that. My personal opinion is we hired him as we finished 17th and needed a safe pair of hands for a season. He wont be here next season imo. Very nice bloke and thats honourable. A club like tottenham he wont get the patience like he did at brentford.

Hard to watch this and reconcile it with the anger and vitriol coming from sections of the fan base. I mean you may not think he's the right guy but he's just doing what he was hired to do. We had 8 years of Brentford to know exactly what we were hiring when we appointed him.

But then I've never understand the vitriol directed at any of of our managers/players in the past (with the possible exception of Ndombele when he started taking the piss).

'We lost a ball on unforced errors 25 times, I showed those clips to the players today'

'If half of them could be better it will provide us with more attacks'

Fine you’re welcome to your opinion just as I am that I think we need far better players

Cost as we know from our recent business is no barometer of quality!

Being an international isn’t either. Look how many internationals in the past have failed to adapt to the Premier League.

The reconciliation is that Sport is about passion and fans aren’t ok with going from a Top 6 club over a sustained period playing some of the best attacking football in the league to what the last couple of years have been (Europa League aside). Right now anyone can see we have no attacking plan and the football we are playing is low risk and boring. That will always prompt a reaction.

Bizarre post.

A fambase as large ss ours will also have a massive range of differing emotions at play.

If we are considered to be playing well short of expectation, what do you think is a likeky response from some of these fans?

It comes with the territory.

Did I say anything about Kane?

Frank does not have the same players available that were available last season
Did Ange have the same players available last season from the previous season? Yes.

Simple.

It's a really dumb straw man you're putting together there
Nah mate... you're the only dumb one here blinded by your hatred towards one manager and love of another...

But credit where it's due. You have improved your vocabulary by recently learning what the word strawman means. But word of advice... dont use it in every post. Else, your lengthy, rambling post will become a classic example of floccinaucinihilipilification, dismissing complex issues with simplistic, worthless claims.
