quite like his last presser, its true what he says, hes been fucked by injuries to key players that is a fact. madders, kulu and solanke all being out this long is a huge dent to us. having to play a right footed player at lb, doesnt help us going forward either as he cuts off a chunk of that width.

he needs 3/4 players in this window to really help him, should be fairly easy to get them upgrades too as they aint upgrading much. i do worry if he was bullish on kudus and xavi tho, that was two 'big players' hes got in and they have been fucking useless, both will be dropping to the bench when maddison and kulu are back, we need players that improve and stay in the 11, not get dropped by existing players.

We also need the occasional capital letter so our posts don't read like the psychotic ramblings of the killer from 7even...

I think Postecoglou loved the job first season, and when the Robbie Williams song was adapted for him, probably up until the City match when he fell out with supporters about the meaning of the game regarding helping Woolwich.

Overall I think he was pleased as punch for season one, even if the supporters could see it all falling apart.
"You only enjoy when your winning" should be a chant :D

I really don't buy it

The more I think about it the more it bothers me, especially now he's saying it as well as fans

Absolutely no doubt missing key players is a challenge, of course it is, but...

...his attitude seems to be "well I can't do anything until they're back so we'll just have to defend"

And I think that's just damning of him

Any decent coach would work with what they have to make something of it - not just give up

And I think the Brentford game captures it perfectly. SCREAMING out for Kudus at #10, and instead he puts a lad there that's played more at CB than anywhere the last two years.

He's just not Spurs. And if that's how he approaches the challenges, I also think he's not the coach we all thought he was when he came in.

Well I don't think there's many occasions when a manager of a professional football club enjoys losing but publicly they try and draw on any positives from the match when interacting with the media. Sometimes they go as far as stating the performances are unacceptable because there's simply no way of defending them.

Frank has gone a step further and announced to the media he's not enjoying the job. If I had said that to my employers their reply would have most likely have been, well maybe this isn't the job for you, and be concerned that my opinion of the job might effect my performance and that of others that were aware about my feelings. I mean as a manager how can he lift the spirits of the players when they know that he's not enjoying being their manager.

He's undermining his own position as part of his job is to provide motivation.

This squad, as it’s currently built, is a managerial graveyard. There’s ability in the squad, but the football IQ and cohesion simply aren’t there. Change the manager if you like – after a brief honeymoon, the outcome will be exactly the same.

I absolutely get what you mean. There is no breathing manager who could step in and make this exact squad a title challenger within 2 weeks or 2 months. Fully agreed with that.

BUT on the flipside - is it the team with least talent, football IQ or technical ability? Surely not! Yet at some point in recent past we were the side with least through balls. And even now we just hoof the ball upfield without any kind of real plan. Just clearing it blindly. And that is difficult to stomach really.

All that kind of mentality is exactly what manager allows it to be. Vicario got yellow card for timewasting. At 0:0. Around 70th minute mark. Against Brendford (!). Wait and see - was there a reaction? Will there be some kind of reaction to that? No. Everyhing is allowed and players face absolute zero accountability for their performances. And that is full, 100% guarantee that it will never ever gonna work out.

For the record - my current vote is on "unsure". I do not like that kind of managerial merry-go-round. I was super optimistic about Frank after his first month. Yet right now I just do not see the plan, the roadmap - nothing.

When was the last time a manager of ours "enjoyed" the job?

Ange Postecoglou is relishing the challenge at Tottenham and remains unwavering in his belief that he can bring success to the club.

Spurs travel to Anfield on Sunday eager to avoid four consecutive defeats after a rocky period under the Australian.

Postecoglou was extremely animated during Thursday’s loss at Chelsea but reflected on the task at hand with a sense of calm and confidence before the trip to Liverpool.

“When things are running smoothly, it’s almost like ‘what the hell am I doing here?’ You want the challenge. That’s where we all get tested,” Postecoglou said.

“I love that aspect of it and I’ve had it in every job I’ve had. When I say I love it, it’s usually I love it when I come out the other side. Not when I’m going through it.

“At the same time, what a great challenge. It was always going to come and it will still come. I’m talking about success. Imagine the scrutiny and the pressure we’ll be under when we’re on the cusp of success at this club?

“Can you imagine the questioning that will come around then about the history of this club and how it falls at the final hurdle? You’ve got to embrace that. That’s always going to be there. Nothing’s going to run smoothly.

“I do, I love this challenge because this is why I do what I do. It’s up to me. Like I said after the Chelsea game, the responsibility lies with me.”

The scrutiny has increased on Postecoglou after Spurs’ clear progress under his stewardship was checked by a one-sided loss at Fulham in March before this run of defeats to Newcastle, Woolwich and Chelsea.

Nevertheless, the 58-year-old feels this current pain is part of the process and retains rock-solid belief that his methods can end Tottenham’s trophy drought, which stretches back to 2008.

Postecoglou added: “Will we be ready in 12 months’ time? That’s the challenge I’ve got.

“What I keep trying to emphasise is that for a club like this, wherever you think you are in your rebuilding cycle, you have to try and win something every year. That’s part of the responsibility.

“I can’t sit here and say we’re going to finish fourth, fifth, sixth and then in the third or fourth year we’re going to win something. I’m not built that way.

“I want to win things all the time. We start next year trying to have success, but the underlying thing is growth. We’ve got to have growth.

“Belief is the word. I want people to believe we can be successful.”

“At the moment I feel like the club has bought into my vision,” Postecoglou reflected.

“And it’s up to me. It’s not about patience, it’s about belief that I need to keep working and taking us forward in a manner that there is belief in the club that they should continue to support my vision.

“I’m not going to do it on my own, that’s for sure. I never have. Wherever I’ve been, I’ve had great support and right now I have all the support I need.”

Agree, our attacking players are just not good enough to make a difference. If you went into attacking mode with these guys it would be awful. Let's hope this January brings some good additions so that Frank gets a proper chance.

I honestly think his mandate is to stay competitive while bedding in the youth.

He’s choosing not to play VDV at LB, that’s on him.

The two big players are useless, Kudus and Simons but he had a say in their recruitment and he’s the one stifling them now

He has to go

Before people go in too hard on Frank for the not enjoying managing us at the minute you should read the full quotes. It does make much more sense when read in full and this is from someone who has already told the wife I'm going on the piss when we do finally sack him

Yeah true but he still needs to think about what he's saying, in there he does say ''the short answer is no'' .

He also states ''"If I run hard, I don’t enjoy that moment, but I know I need to keep my head down and run hard to get through it to get my fitness up, or win a race. We are in a situation where you need to run hard, to stay in it, to get through it.''

So he's comparing the job to an activity that he doesn't enjoy. I'm not going to keep cherry picking his quotes though, other people can read the article and make their own minds up. However I don't quite know where he's coming from with this;

''The transformation of 2025 has never happened as much in 140 years."

I don't believe he knows the club's history well enough to make such a statement, it's actually debateable if the transformation from Nuno to Conte that year wasn't bigger than in 2025 because the team really responded well and kicked on.

If the results and league position are the metrics, the club didn't have a big transformation last year at all,

What he said is far from perfect but I do think it's one of those occasions where the media are twisting it to try and create a story which in this instance isn't there or deserved. There's plenty to go after Frank on, going after him for these sort of quotes takes away from the legitimate issues we can go after him for like the shit clueless cowardly football.

Yeah I know but if some of us on here are concerned with his comments, there's a fair chance some of the players are at least scratching their heads about them. I can't remember him stating he didn't enjoy the Brentford job.

The main thing is about the actual football that matters and not the words, but it's like he can't do an interview without some sort of self harm. Either bigging up the opposition, reminding all about 17th position last season, having a go at supporters for not being proper, we're not really a Champions league team, and now he doesn't enjoy the job.

He's a walking PR disaster on top of the crappy football that's being served up.

I had a dream last night where I saw Frank and he was almost in tears the poor cunt he had to walk off to calm down. Anyway when he come back I asked him what's going on and he tells me that the players are thick as shit and unable to follow instructions. Make of that what you will

Agreed

His comments on missing players bothered me

His comments on not enjoying it don't bother me at all, I can see what he's saying
