I see we're already at that stage where anything the manager says, no matter how inoffensive, uncontroversial and/or just plain true attracts pile ons from large sections of the fanbase.

Not great.

Probably because every time hr opens it is offensive, controversial and not the whole truth.

Definitely not great.

Maybe he should just try to win games, improve players and appreciate the fanbase support.

Not about winning the title, but he just "didn't understand" the rivalry, and was quite insulting in his appraisal of spurs fans cheering the concept of Woolwich not winning the title. It was under the guise of "I just want to win every game"

Next thing you know, he's claiming to be not bothered about winning league games to he can try to reach a cup final.

It was a contradiction then and is now. You either understand why winning one league is not important in the bigger picture, or you don't. Can't have the cake and eat it with that. Meanwhile, the whole thing was about a 'winning mindset', but what we turned into was a team that was basically told it is ok to lose over 20 league games per season.

What people are interpreting as some amazing mindset is and was just bullshitting the fans. We normalised to losing so much during that period that people are voting that they'd have the same guy back again, losing more than every other game, and not seeing it as an outrage.
Hmm, I have nothing to say. Your arguments have so many assumptions when many facts are out there that when crossed referenced will make your points invalid.

But I don't have time for this lol. He's gone and I know nothing will change people's perception of him anyways.

Or intelligent recruitment.
Jan, Lloris, Toby, Rose, Walker, Dembele, Dele, Eriksen weren't mega money. Kane was a kid. Pretty sure at that time the most expensive one of the lot was probably Son ?
Not the most we'd paid, but the most expensive player playing in the starting 11 most weeks.
I meant it would be crazy money to purchase a team like that next season if Pochettino became manager.

That lasted for two months.

The Ange / Frank overlap has lasted 18 months.

I mean if we had a young, progressive, high press, high tempo Manager lined up to take over - sure. But even then that guy is gonna be stuck with Bents and Pal in CM...

I just don't see any good options - other than buying someone with genuine quality and leadership in CM right NOW.

Has to beat Villa to stop the momentum. Fanbase needs hope.

Honestly I dont think its enough.

The issues with Frank, IMO, go beyond results.

Ive said many times, I think the fanbase would suffer poor results if we saw improvement on the field - saw what was being built, where we were heading - and was on board with it

Instead, the draws with Palace, Brentford and Sunderland feel like loses, the results are secondary to the set up - hes getting boo's anyway

That said, if we start losing while playing like this - then itll definitely get even more sour very fast

I genuinely believe THAT manager would be getting much better football out of the existing group than Frank is now - even without necessary squad building

Spurs should only be buying from the top drawer going forward.

Every player we buy should be better than the best player we currently have in that position.

We are so shit this shouldn't be that hard to do.

Buy better players; sell the shit players.

Yeah I didn't like what he said about the gooners, but I ignored it, thought maybe he is just like that , wants to win every game, fair enough....

Then comes the league games and our losses soon got into double figures, you can't have it both ways can you!

I Love that Ange won us the EL trophy, however he let losing become normalised in the league , which is unacceptable and he paid the price for it!

Im quite happy with a 2 tier approach

I like the Bergvall, Vuskovic, Tel type buys of young, potential players

Although it means we need a manager (and system) that allows for these players to get integrated as well

But I agree, we need to improve our first team buying
