The notion that his job could be 'saved' by an ok second half in a game we still lost concerns me. The first half like 90% of our matches this season was trash.

30mins of ok football every few months seems to be the damn bar now. We should have been all over of them in the end but nope, just lost discipline and accepted defeat. All on Frank, just go.

The standards are in the absolute mud, both within some of the fanbase & the board.

Expected Villa to win so not that put out I want us to win a league game before a cup match at this stage .never thought we would have any chance in the cup anyhow . It goes without saying that a win next week is critical as a defeat there could put us in a real tailspin in the league and who knows how low we could drop in that situation ,morale must be low among the squad and the fans are almost ready to riot .

Frank on his way out of the training ground. Think of all the mini whiteboards and postit notes he can buy with the pay off money.

Yup second half was better because we went 2-0 down and threw all his stupid tactics out the window and just started pressing. We saw the same thing against Liverpool a few weeks ago.

It's scary that we just look a far better team once we are 2-0 down
And also better with 2 men down. It's almost like players couldn't be restrained anymore they just go fuck it and play the way they are capable of.

I think we can put to bed the whole "no manager can get more out of this squad" "our players are just shit" "it's impossible for anyone to get these players playing good football" narratives

Second half shows, there are gears/levels not being tapped into here

And it's no surprise the biggest difference is in approach, aggressive, positive, high tempo...

What the fuck has Frank been doing all season? Why does he make them play with the handbrake on?

And is this his last hurrah? Honestly, 30 games now is it? This is the first time he's gone for it like that. I think he knows anything less and he's sacked - I have genuine questions about what on earth he thinks he's doing/has been doing

Best 45 of the season, I suspect when he's just said "fuck it go kamikaze (by Frank standards)

As much as I enjoyed that half, it's actually winding me up what on earth has he been doing all season?

Imagine the shape we'd be in now if we started the season like this and spent 30 games tuning it?

Spot on. If anything that 2nd half is even more detrimental to Frank because it shows what this squad is capable of, but he isn't unlocking it at all.

There are clearly more gears in the squad that like you say are not being tapped into. Why only play like that when we are 2 nil down? why not start the game like that? It's all on the manager.

The tactics, the style of play, it's fucking shit. Results and performances appalling.

It's Frank.

Frank plays like Arteta when he had the original Woolwich squad he took over. Everything is all about out of possession positioning but minus Palhinha he doesn’t have the elite bully boy players to execute. As you say soon as handbrakes are off and Odobert, Tel and Simons can interchange we look good.

We played like Redknapp second half. Defensive players in position but attacking players given freedom and told to take the game to the opposition. Frank was sold on being this flexible Redknapp style of manager but is more Nuno.

Sorry but that is an insult to Arteta. He's levels above Frank.

I honestly have no clue if he should stay or go at this point. We have spells where we look really good, one of Vicario/Romero/Porro make a defensive error, we concede, and then everyone stops trying. Or else we start the match without any energy where no one looks like they want to be out there, and we only start playing once we go behind.

I think we all can agree the squad is midtable at best. There's no available manager who's going to come in and get us playing any noticeably better, especially with all the injuries. I think I'm at the point where I'd give Frank the rest of the season and reasses in the summer. But whether it's him or some other poor fool, there must be a mass clean out of the squad this summer.
