Thanks, but until Fattynomates Fattynomates posts something showing a tee time, I’m not buying this!

It seems strange now that so many are saying we miss Maddison, Kulusevski and Solanke so much. I think a majority of people wanted them sold off after last season. If before the last window we sold Maddison and brought in Simon's, most would have said that's an upgrade, if we sold Kulusevski and brought in Kudus, most would have said that's an upgrade and if we sold Solanke and brought in Muani most would have said that's an upgrade. In hindsight those players haven't performed well in Frank's system. All very good players in an attacking system, but all struggling in Frank's defence oriented set up where we let the opposition have most of the ball and we focus on long throws and corners.

Frank was a really bad appointment but using computer generated metrics to find a manager has Johan Lange's paw prints all over it.

Look, there are absolute dipshits telling all kinds of shit.

Rest assured - 100% of our players have received critique over past 12 months. That does not make them useless or shit. And this does not let use that kind of argument (if not just demagoguery) about those players.

And even that is far fetched. Kolo Muani being upgrade to Solanke in EPL? Really :D ? Kolo Muani who did poorly in PSG and who they try to send wherever? Seriously ?

Not defending Frank though. I do not like how he sets up the team. I do not like the non-existent passing patterns. I do not like the instructions to slow it down and play it safe (and round as a result). But to use trio of Kolo Muani (very much questionable quality), Xavi (just very-very poor start and doing basic things poorly), Kudus (has delivered) to beat Frank is unneeded.

He’s not going to be backed, because they doubt him. But won’t sack him until the end of that nightmare run.

By which point an interim will have a massively depleted squad, even worse that it is.

And the new guy in the summer won’t get the “war chest” on top of the standard amount.

We are fucked.
It shouldn’t matter who’s in the hot seat unless you’re purchasing a specialist wing back or some such to fit a specific coaches philosophy.

We should be staying away from those type of systems and their managers anyway.

We should establish the type of football we want to play (which should be bleeding obvious for us - anyone with football knowledge could tell you how we’ve traditionally played) and recruit players and managers to fit that ethos.

They’re using the manager uncertainty to cheap out! I’d like to be proved wrong, but from what I’ve seen nothing has or will likely change under ENIC, Levy or not!

Staggering Frank is still in charge. Really worrying, not so much that he continues to be the manager but what it indicates about the clarity and decision-making of the hierarchy

That Paratici is also around until the end of the window offers further proof of a board who seem to be fearful of consequences and are just hoping for things to happen.

More than anything else that is a worry.

Attacking, front foot football. But players that suit that. Stop hiring defensive coaches.

Just make sure your manager does have some sort of tactical acumen and doesn’t go hung ho. 🤣

Agreed.

The underlying massive problem is those making the decisions at the top

They'd get their act together very quickly if large section of the fan base didn't turn up for a game.

It's the only language they understand.

I suppose if Frank is sacked in January, it's going to be Paratici who suggests the next guy, who else is there at the club to make such a decision? If it's Lange he'll probably suggest Southgate.

Mason interim now WBA have let him go?

I’d take him as a caretaker over anyone Lange or Paratici with one foot out the door suggests to get through to the summer.

You can see a Southgate coming a mile off, but it seems Paratici is off after the window closes.

There’s no fucking way of let him choose. He chose Nuno and wanted Gattuso. Etc.

Maybe if Frank is sacked before the season ends the club will ask Southgate to be interim manager, the problem is then a catch 22 because if he does well.....

We hired about 1,000 of Brentford's backroom staff so it won't be cheap to terminate their contracts now

I'll never understand why, when a manager leaves, it somehow follows that he needs to take all his people with him. Are we to understand that all the hires have been dogshit? Can a new manager not work with the same coaches?

Sure, you sometimes see it in the corporate world where an entire team moves with a CEO, but it just seems weird when it happens in football AND we pay them off.
