Think you’ll find it was phases. I think he only mentions that after we win. Anyway his stopped quoting his stupid manual now.
once upon a time shrek GIF

I agree Ange wasn't the answer, but it's not like we stepped up a gear in hiring Frank. He had no pedigree/credentials for the job, it was just another gamble and basically a sideways or backwards move, depending on whether or not we stay up. It was definitely not progression to hire Frank. The guy is a wet blanket and commands zero respect.
We certainly change gear... we hit reverse.

The real problem is the lack of at least 1 prolific goal scorer. Some forwards are good at other things but being a prolific goal scorer is different. We always have had them, Greaves, Gilzean, Chivers, Crooks, Archibald, Sherringham, Klinsman, Defoe, Keane, Berbatov, Kane & Son. I have probably missed some out. They rescue and win matches but we lost Kane & now Son. Ange made up for it by attacking in numbers but Frank relies on fewer attackers and they simply are not good enough. He had better goal scorers at Brentford. Who ever takes over will struggle.

I am not arguing that Frank should stay but I am concerned it will not improve when he does go.

Ange sort of did install a mentality that losing was ok. Sort of. He would tell the players that if they made mistakes, but for the right reason, that was acceptable. Knowing that these mistakes could lead to conceded goals and therefore, lost points. He wanted us to attack at all times and play the difficult pass, not take the easy way. Meant we scored more but conceded more too.

Now? We don’t take risks. We revel in cowardice. We only score Puskas level goals, but very few of them. Concede less at the back though. Seems to me that we are trying to copy that lot along the road by shithousing our way to wins.
Concede less !

Ffs no one has fully fit squad. He managed to do more at Brentford with less. I’m not having this injury shit give him excuses. His had first choice defence and midfield all season. Add in Xavi, pal, kudus and kolo more than enough to beat wolves spam
At home. We just needed to win some of those games and we’d be safe. But no some make excuses. He has overseen shite especially at home. Fuck what Ange did this guy was supposed to take us to next level and be more competitive in all comps. He has been pathetic. We don’t even look organised properly. Our GD is now 0.

You missed part of my post.

We need to judge him on what he can do with a fit squad. He had that at the start of the season, and he was poor.

The performances now are inevitable. The squad is missing 13 players. But at the start, he had a full squad and still was unable to demonstrate a system and mindset built for winning. It was negative survival first football.

Does he have the tools and staff to improve and start playing attacking football? Maybe. Let's see how he does when Danso, Porro, Spence and Kulu are back.

Newcastle (H)
Palace (H)
Leeds (H)
Forest (H)
Everton (H)
Brighton (H)
Wolves (A)

If we can get 12-14 points out of these 7 games we should be alright. Issue is, how likely is that?
In any normal season that's a bloody fantastic set of fixtures. Newcastle and Palace horribly out of form, a promoted team, an already-relegated team, and 3 decidedly mid-table sides at home, 2 of which will probably have nothing to play for.

Yet under Frank you can see us struggling in every single one of those. If we lose to Newcastle I think the board need to think very seriously about replacing him just to get us a new-manager bounce. We simply cannot afford to do what Leicester did when they waited until April to sack Rodgers when it was already too late. The stakes are too high and with these fixtures a decent stop-gap manager should be able to get us over the line.

Hell, Wolves found some journeyman from Portugal and he comfortably kept them up in a similar situation last season with a much worse team. There must be someone we can get on a short term deal to give the team a kick up the arse for 3 months.

Might cost us 10-20m or whatever to sack Frank, but he's surely gone in the summer anyway. Just pull the trigger and shake things up. Will cost the club a fuckload more if we go down.

I’ll die on this hill no matter what.

Ange has flaws, but would have no doubt learnt a lot and would have likely adapted with a third season. Deserved at least the first 10 matches of this season to demonstrate said learnings. Said it at the time on my varying WhatsApp groups as soon as he got sacked, and I’ll say this same thing again… unless we signed Klopp or someone world class like a Zidane, sacking Ange made no sense.

VDV in the couple interviews he did even stated the decision to sacrifice the league when relegation was no longer possible was heavily back d by the playing group. The board took umbrage and made the decision hastily.

To those who try to use Ange's stint as Forest as a black mark against him, he had no transfer window and the entire Forest squad was built around counter attack, not the football Ange is renowned for, wasn't give the proper time to imprint his DNA.

And lastly, to those who keep thinking Poch is some sort of solution or savior, think again. Bloke was sacked at Chelsea and is now facing the real threat of the sack if the US don’t at least make the last 16. His tenure had been under the microscope for quite some time.

But, this is what the club gets for replacing a trophy winning manager with someone with no experience with “big” clubs and now the entire club is reaping what it sowed.

Now I truly understand why Ange would rather see Woolwich win the title, refusing to throw a match and see the ENTIRE club imprinted with the winning DNA.

The club from top to bottom is just loser mentality.

I’ve been Frank out since before the forest game.
But……
He is not responsible for Romero shitting the bed again and I’m sure he didn’t say yeah I don’t want any additional players in January.
No. But he played Romero. And that’s how he’s repaid him.

And he’s not counting the board off for not backing him.

So fuck him. He’s happy sucking everyone off.

I don't believe Ange was ever one for learning, too set in his ways

If he was to succeed he'd have needed to change his staff, and I don't think he was going to do that.

Sacking Ange was entirely correct.

Hiring Frank was the mistake
