It makes sense. The back to back axsis of Postecoglou and Frank has absolute devastated us. I mean just insane appointments that have primed us for relegation. If we survive this it will have come from one of the players leading us. And it won't be from the rancid leadership group.
Also corresponds with losing all our elite players and possibly the worst, ongoing injury crisis any club has ever suffered dating back to 23/24

Would assume this is based off 3 points for a win since the majority of those seasons had 2 points for a win and I'm sure there would be lower point totals because of that.

Adjusting all seasons to 3 points for a win is a fair comparison though.
I dont think there would be any worse than that, i'm sure its factored in. When we went down in 76/77 we would have had 45 pts in todays terms. This is worse than i can ever remember.

Used the word desperate several times and very deliberately…

Seems like he’s maybe feeling like this is last chance saloon

Maybe it would help if Newcastle on a Tuesday evening wasn't a Cat A game, might also help if the Club didn't sell the season tickets for more than they pay the person selling it, £94 for Newcastle in the south Stand and we wonder why the atmosphere can be flakey.

Being as the ST has already been sold the club should allow the holder to sell below face value, rather than adding on extra as they decided its a Cat A game.

He is right about that really. The sulking has got to be put on the shelf along with the whole we deserve better mantra. The home fans need to start really getting behind the team and making a difference. All the other teams fans down near the bottom will be.

We have been. Atmospheres have been good recently despite the results. Fans have definitely been getting behind the team. Time for them to do their bit for once. But yeah let’s blame the fans again.

I sympathise with dustybin 's point because at times the crowd has been sulky from the get go which isn't helpful (albeit understandable) - but you're right. When given something to get up and about for like the second half against City the crowd certainly responded and did our part.

To be honest who cares about blame. We shouldn’t be such babies when we get criticised as a fan base. I’ve gone off and on since the late 80s and even though we’ve had quiet periods and moaning fans at times we’ve probably had worse squads than this. This year has definitely been the worse home atmosphere I can remember. The first half against Man City last week was silent from kick off. You could hear the players shouting.

I honestly have no clue what his vision is.

I mean he just waffles constantly.

And he's negative and ridiculously uninspiring.

I mean who the fuck thought this would be a good appointment.

We played 42 games in 76/77. Using 3 points for a win, we would have finished on 45 points (W12, D9).
That works out at 1.07 points per game
In the current 38 game PL, that would equate to 41 points for the season.
