Prime is subjective but here are Son's PL G/A by age.
Age 24 - 14/6
Age 25 - 14/6
Age 26 - 12/6
Age 27 - 11/10
Age 28 - 17/10

Age 30 - 10/6
Age 31 - 17/10
Age 32 - 7/9
His age 31 season was Ange's first season which I called him near-prime. Stats agree. I'll admit he was definitely a better player at 28 when he had the same stats. I also never called his age 32 season near prime, I called it old Son.
Son hit his peak in Conte's first season, to say he was in his prime under Ange is disingenuous crap, he was clearly on his way down after that.
Even when “ he was on his way down “ ; he still seemed to be able to put in a shift , be effective, and score goals . We’d be lucky to be able to call on someone with his commitment and capability today IMO .
We were fortunate to have him as long as we did .
Well he played last season and tbh towards the end of it he became a hinderence, I don't think he'd make any difference to this team now.

Frank did better at Brentford with Brentford's players than he did here with our players. The more you consider it, the more an indictment it is of this club and this squad.
Frank had been successful in the PL before. He's had a degree of sustained success at this level, he isn't an Ange who saw the club on a downward trajectory for most of his tenure, then went to another PL club and also failed.
Not every man is a fit for every job, and this job may have been too big for Frank. He may just be a decent small club manager who can get those types of players organized and bought into his methods and ready to work hard, but isn't right for the sort of players we have, who seem to need motivating or binning depending on the man.

I think it was just pure amateur. They saw Woolwich keep Arteta and saw us keep Ange last season and win an EL and thought if we keep Frank long enough the magic will happen. They clearly didn’t look at the performances declining, players looks miserable, tactics a fucking mess. Football you need good instincts, someone like Pleat would have removed him early, Lange and Vinai are spreadsheet guys.
