Its time to replace the trust with a think tank
The Fighting Cock is a forum for fans of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. Here you can discuss Spurs latest matches, our squad, tactics and any transfer news surrounding the club. Registration gives you access to all our forums (including 'Off Topic' discussion) and removes most of the adverts (you can remove them all via an account upgrade). You're here now, you might as well...
Membership is £5 per annum and my renewal was quite recent.....defo not renewing next time.
I'm cancelling next year (they took this year's payment last week), they don't listen to anyone apart from themselves, bunch of tossers
BBC know exactly what they’re doing with that kind of carry on
A septic tank would be an improvement
Partey was arrested three times whilst Vianai was the boss man at Woolwich, yet The Trust make no comment on that.Agreed
But our own supporters group is providing the ammunition
Surely they should be doing everything possible to help the club avoid relegation??
An American? No thanks

Youre just a guy from the lane mate.Wait a minute I'm a member of the trustr as well didn't get anything about this???
Absolute drivel. If what they were saying in the email is true, why did they say in their original statement: "our preference would have been for a short-term appointment of an individual or individuals who understand the Club and can lead the players in the seven battles to come." Whose fucking preferences is this? (edit: Would they have kicked up a fuss about Hoddle if he were the manager and his comments on disabled people...highly doubt it)email from them today :
Dear Mr M Jol,
We are writing to you following our statement on the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi, which we received a number of reactions, both in support and in opposition.
We’d like to clarify our governance, as some responses requested further detail on our approach, particularly regarding our democratic processes and consultation with members. We consider transparency to be absolutely key in our dealings with our members.
We are the only democratic body representing Spurs fans and the only one accountable to members who actively shape our work. The Board is democratically elected by members at an annual AGM, with all full members invited to vote for those standing for election and to nominate themselves and others to stand. Alongside this process, we publish an annual report that outlines the Trust’s impact, agenda and vision.
Once board members are democratically elected, they act on behalf of THST and members, taking into account the Trust’s existing policies, principles, member and supporter survey consultations, the Five Principles of Ownership adopted and driven by the Trust membership (and supported by the Club), as well as the views of members as expressed through direct contact.
As democratically elected board members, the positions, lobbying and campaigns the Trust takes and leads are guided by this direction from members, and we are held accountable by the democratic process outlined above. The Board is also responsible for reviewing the sentiment and feedback from its work, and this situation will be no different at the next board meeting.
With regard to our statement on Roberto De Zerbi’s appointment, prior to the announcement, we were contacted by a number of members and supporters who asked us to raise their concerns with the Club. We took this, along with our reflections on how the Club's values and our Five Principles of Ownership were being upheld by the Club, into our decision-making. The Board determined they were not.
Our aim was to challenge the Club and the newly appointed manager in a way that would clarify their position. We felt, based on the feedback we were receiving, that this was vital to ensure the fan base would feel heard, which, in turn, would enable us to all focus on supporting the team and the new manager in the final games of the season. We hope the Club will do so quickly.
We appreciate all the support and constructive criticism we have received in this instance and will consider and reflect on the opinions of our members and other Spurs fans at our next meeting. This will include assessing mechanisms to take the pulse of our members' views at speed. More information to follow.
We remain committed to being an independent, democratic body open to all Tottenham Hotspur supporters. We would encourage all of our members to get involved whenever they can and welcome ongoing dialogue on this and other issues impacting the Club.
Our sole focus now is on supporting the team in the games we have left and playing our part in preventing relegation.
