Player Timo Werner

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He didn't humiliate him ffs.

He said he's playing poorly and he expects more from a senior player in his squad.

Geez, crucify the fat Aussie!

With respect, as you’re a decent poster, how do you know that he didn’t humiliate him?

The only person who can say that is Timo himself who has kept quiet.

If he came out and said that he felt humiliated by being called out publicly then fine.

If he came out and that he didn’t care what the fat pub league cunt said then also fine.

But he’s said neither.

Maybe Ange has threatened him that if he says something he will play him CB alongside Drag who has permission to squeeze his balls for every mistake he makes?

Ok but my point is that if Werner does feel 'humiliated' because his manager told him he needs to play better then cancel his contract tomorrow cos he's an absolute wet wipe.

What should happen is the next time Timo is on the pitch he contributes.

I hope he does. We need him to.

28hrs earlier by Danny Boyle.

Ange says "I don't criticise players in public"

28hrs later.
Ride It London GIF

This isn't about Timo Werner it's about hypocrisy.

Agreed but I don’t honestly think that he’s got it nowadays for whatever reason.

I didn’t see him when he played for Leipzig before being loaned but I did when he was at the Chavs when he was gash which I quite enjoyed!

But apart from a couple of decent runs and a good goal he’s been mostly anonymous for us and, like Johnson, he usually freezes when he receives the ball seemingly too frightened to take a FB on also like Johnson

When he did against City with Walker what a result?

I’ve no idea what the coaches are saying to him but if it were me I would be saying things like take the ball towards an opponent and knock it past him so that his undoubted pace can cause the opposition real problems !

When I used to play albeit at an amateur level I used to hate being taken on by a speedy winger and often resorted to bringing him down and conceding free kicks etc

There’s a big difference in berating a player to his face, and humiliating him in the media for thousands to witness!

It’s a cheap shot from Ange. The professional thing was to keep it behind closed doors.
Exactly this. I thought Ange was above throwing players under the bus in public, TBH, it's this sort of thing that makes me think less of him. Werner is, at best, an 'ok' player, and at worst, a liability. That's been pretty obvious from the start.

And it also makes the rest of the players think less of him and once a side start to lose respect for their manager it usually only ends one way with them downing tools

Think Jose and the Chavs!

Well he’s nobody to blame bar himself , he’s already on thin ice with how we are playing + it’s been mentioned quite a lot how he comes across in interviews the “how you doing mate” has lost its appeal

This is absolute madness to me.

He didn't throw Timo under a bus. We all saw he was shit in the first half. Ange was right to sub him at half time.

He didn't tell the press anything we didn't see with our own eyes but apparently Ange has to pretend.

Except...

If he's asked about the half time sub and says 'It was tactical' then many on here would be beating the 'Ange is soft on the players' drum or similar.

The guy is on a hiding to nothing at the moment.

Chucked him right under it.

Mrs P. I'd never do this if I was management in an office at a paper factory. It's just unkind, if I had an employee who was failing I'd not belittle him in front of everyone else. It would also make my staff less inclined to trust me.

Exactly and it’s the same in any job

I was an officer in the Navy in the engine room and if one of my crew fucked up then he would be invited into my office for a ‘chat’ and if that meant him leaving the office with one testicles short then so be it!

But never publicly as that would only expose the shortcomings of the supervisory officer and would be bad for the morale of those watching!

It’s basic man management and Ange clearly doesn’t have a clue!

Can you address him saying he wouldn't critices people in public and naughty stepping Romero for digging out the owners in the press, then doing the same to Timo Werner. Honestly you seem a decent bloke you think this is honorable? Can't see your Avatar doing this.
I've said earlier that, to me, the Romero thing is different.

Romero should be concentrating on leading the team on the pitch and not concerning himself with off field matters.

And I don't think Ange sees what he's done to Timo the same way you do. He's a manager trying to get a senior player to play better. He's said himself he doesn't see what he said as criticism but assessment.

Obvs we're all free to debate that but Ange himself has explained his stance pretty clearly.

He says don't criticise in public and also said he didn't criticise Timo.

Oh deary me...its exactly the same. You're being disingenuous. Romero has been at Spurs a few years he critiqued what he has seen in a board underperform in public. Ange has publicly criticised a player a player he feels is underperforming.

BUT that's not the substantive point which was the hypocrisy in saying don't do this publicly and then doing it himself twenty eight hours later.
