He’s Timo Werner. Which is exactly what we’ve got so far. A lot of being very quick, hard working, dangerous and active in games always and a lot of rubbish decisions mixed with a couple of simple assists and lots of being unable to shoot.
Was a canny loan pick up. Probably would be a worthwhile squad player on low wages. But he’s been exactly as expected so far.

For the right money I would keep him as a Squad player. 2 Assists so far and still finding his groove with the Squad and getting back to the pace of the PL.
For the quoted £13m it’s a no brainer IMHO.
I'd hold fire on that before he starts making a positive contribution to the team, just becsuse it's cheap doesn't mean we have to do it.

Regardless I have always said touchline wingers work best in this system, would prefer us to focus on getting one on that side even if it means spending more money

Son, Johnson, Solomon, Gil, Santiago ... With Werner we would then have 6 players for 1 place.
Use the money for a top quality young player who can cover at left back, Ben is great but he is nearer the end than the beginning.

Nice guy, assists have been good but is he going to be the long-term plan for life after Son? because those are the type of wages he's on.

Not saying Werner is close to the level of Son especially goal scoring wise but fast and getting crosses into the box seems to be his game

No, he's not consistent enough though - compare Mitoma's performance with Werner's yesterday.
That's the level we need to be aspiring to.
Werner had more dribbles than Mitoma, more crosses, and more successful crosses. I have no idea why Mitoma is apparently the level "we need to be aspiring to".
Mitoma did almost nothing yesterday.
Did he even win a 1v1 against Porro?
The one chance he had was from our mistake and he missed.
It's weird tbh. People just get hipster about a player and then only see what they want to.
And yet Mitoma was more of a threat than Werner, go figure.
Mitoma is the player and profile type we need not Werner.
He wasn't a threat so no not really.
