Player Timo Werner

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I disagree. He kept getting asked about him. All he basically said is Timo is not playing at the standard known of and expected of him. Let’s see how Timo reacts.

The journo originally asked "You subbed Werner at HT..... Was it tactical?".

Ange said "yes" and could have left it at that, only to then proceed to criticise Werner (thus contradicting himself) and left the door open for the journo to keep digging.

It could have ended with just "yes..".

Lol, before today, Timo has been a constant criticism and insult by people here.

Now Ange was saying the same thing about Timo, and instead of agreeing 'he's finally right this time', people goes 'he's a tit for throwing a player under the bus'.

Fucking hell.

Wanted him dropped and his loan cancelled. Didn't want the manager that signed him twice to start slaughtering him to the press. That usually leads to more trouble in the team.

angie is palpable for signing him twice -so, why not just bear it till next season.
surely you get other players thinking - gee ,wished I had a 170K/wk salary

We should have never re-signed him in the summer. It was bad business and really handcuffed our transfer abilities imo. But the club did what the club did(cheap cheap cheap). But for Ange to go after him like that is absurd. Timo wasn’t great but who fucking was? Maddison got away with another stinker, as did the rest. I think Ange should have rephrased the answer to “yeah Timo was shit, so we’re all of the senior players. I’m literally relying on 18 yr olds cause these other cunts are useless”. That would have sat better with me. Hahaha

Actually the video I saw, which was edited, showed Ange respond to several different questions. It wasn’t just one long answer.

Hahah imagine thinking that was how it played out

:levywhoa:

He’s clearly a club signing that Ange didn’t want and is venting his frustration with Levy and his inexperienced football frauds publicly. A told you so for all to see

So Werner went out last night to play poorly ?
was he poor YES
did he run back YES
if big Ange calls out Werner where was the call out for Johnson who lost the ball all game and didn't chase back to get it back

I'm not defending Werner he is HOPELESS but Ange has resigned him after seeing him for 6 months

Publicly criticising a player in that manner is never a good idea. Only rattled managers do it.
‘Maybe that’s what these pea hearts need. Time to stop mollycoddling these charlatans and get in about them. If they don’t like it then they can fuck off.
I’m pretty sure behind closed doors they are getting slaughtered for what they are producing but maybe embarrassing them in public might give the a rocket up their arses to prove they are not heartless poor footballers because that’s what they are showing themselves to be right now.
The one positive from last night was that they didn’t crumble after Rangers scored when the atmosphere went through the roof. They hung in and got back level. That is the one and only positive from last night.

Ange literally said this the day before the game:

"Cristian, he realises that lot of what he said was good but some wasn't the right way of dealing with it. The same way I wouldn't criticise a player publicly.

It’s not 1995 anymore, most modern players don’t respond to being publicly slagged by their manager. Especially soft lads like Werner. Ange knows this but it’s easier to criticise a player than admit your own mistakes.

Maybe next time he will have the guts to start Lankshear if Solanke can’t play, rather than bringing in Werner and putting Son up front.
