Stadium Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Is a bit weird that they only decide to create a Twitter page for the stadium on the eve of the first major non-football event, as opposed to, yano, Tottenham Hotspur’s first game there?

Well obviously the football related stuff will emanate from the football club social-media/marketing team.....

Would "Totenham Hotspur Non-Football Related Social-Media Hub" be any less perplexing?

A statue of Greavesie outside the multi sports and entertainment complex "primarily built for NFL" would be too synonymous with Tottenham Hotspur, of course.

More proof of Levy's total disregard for our football club

How has someone disagreed with this?
I didn't disagree, but nevertheless, the article is bollocks. As far as any of us know, the hack included, Levy hasn't said he won't have a statue of Greavsie, simply that there isn't one at the minute. That's a huge difference.

As for why there isn't one at the minute, there's a tradition of not erecting statues to or naming things like roads, buildings, stands and so on for living people.

Jimmy only left us a week ago. If there still isn't a statue or other commemoration in a couple of years, then fair enough, but at this point I'd say this piece is unnecessary

Have you not heard of the boy that cried wolf?

I am more than curious as to why the club have this stance on statues (which stretches back before the new stadium btw), but the poster in question isn't concerned with that; it's just opportunistic anti-Levy propaganda.

It's a curious position for the club to take considering one of the things that Levy did do when ENIC took over was to re-engage the club with our history, legends etc.

....Before they arrived there were virtually no traces of our history around the club.

We also show signs of being keen to retain a bond with the newer breed of retirees..... Ledley, Mason, Dawson, Sherwood (Ooops!), Freund etc......

Unless we have a 'statue' park, I can understand why there is a policy if no statues. We have been very lucky that we have had some genuine legends that have played for the Club, Jimmy being one of them. However, surely if we are going to put up a statue, has to be Billy Nick first?
Also, wouldn't a statue in the public domain be a target for vandals?

I disagreed as, like you, I thought the article was bullshit.

Also, IF we are going to start putting up statues at some point, then surely it should be Bill Nicholson first.

The article certainly proceeds from a let's shit on Spurs standpoint (and there's enough anti-Levy sentiment woven in to get the likes of Honest John Honest John foaming all over his keyboard!), but I brought this up the other day..... Apparently the club does have a 'no statues' policy......

Hopefully the THST pick up the batton and at least get some answers.

I think sky should probably have built some sort of a soundproof studio. It’s a real struggle for the sound people with the noise in the stadium.
