Match Tottenham Hotspur v Ajax, Champions League Semi-Final, Tue 30th April

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

From the Spurs website...
"Neither the Ticket Exchange nor Ticket Share platforms will be in operation for this fixture. All tickets are strictly non-transferable and only for use by the named Season Ticket Holder or member. Action will be taken against anybody found to have passed tickets on unofficially for this match."

Doesn't that mean there will be empty seats? Seems like a daft idea to me. Is it some kind of Euro-regulation?

People seem to be quaking about ajax. Yes, they have had some good results in the champions league. But in both those games they had little pressure (it was all on Juventus/Real) and had a situation where one goal would totally swing the tie in their favour.

I'd remind you that Ajax are currently level on points with PSV. That's the team that finished bottom of our group. That's the team that we took 4 points off (should've been 6 but for bad calls at their place) and basically did nothing but defend for 180 minutes.

I do think ajax have grown as the season has gone on but some perspective. We can definitely beat them. I think it's in our favour that we have the home leg first. Do you seriously believe we will play as bad as Saturday again? I don't think so.

Llorente is useless in this match, he offers fuckall.

He spitomises our team in some respects.

A real shame because his signing made so much sense it seemed but nope, not really happened for him.

It's probably right to say Janssen would have offered more based on his few minutes against West Ham.

But Llorente is our player so fingers crossed for something worth the name if he does play any part tomorrow.

Did you see him on Saturday? In my opinion he's a ball-watcher who gets lucky sometimes.

If Kane or Son were fit he wouldn't get anywhere near this match but they're not so he will.

Lloris
Trippier Foyth Toby Verts Rose
Dier Wanyama
Eriksen
Alli Moura

That gives us Llorente off the bench

Or a bolder approach would be

Lloris
KWP Foyth Sanchez Toby Verts
Dier Alli
Eriksen
Llorente Moura

Which gives us Rose, Wanyama and Trippier off the bench

Far too open in a first leg.

A lead is important to state the obvious.

If they score we need a 2 goal buffer.

If not 1 nil is workable but 2 zip would really hand us the initiative.

Both teams will fancy their chances.

Verdict
There are two great semi-final ties scheduled to be played and they should both be great watches for the neutral. Ajax will be confident of getting something out of this game. It would be a surprise to see Tottenham keep a clean sheet, considering Ajax scored in all four matches against Juventus and Real Madrid. Given their injury and suspension crisis, this is going to be a very difficult mission for the home side. An away win is more than possible.
Tottenham 1-2 Ajax
