Match Tottenham Hotspur v Ajax, Champions League Semi-Final, Tue 30th April

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Fucking hell i just had a surge of adrenaline and shouted out at work.
I woke up with a tinge of nervousness and excitement this morning. I will confess that I'm feeling very apprehensive BUT I was from the very second we drew City out of the hat, so time to pull myself together!

Time to enjoy this game. Time to enjoy the fact we are in the Semi-Final of the fucking Champions League!!! Fucking Hell!! Let’s write that again, we are in the Semi-Final of the Champions League!!! All of us are well prepared for losing a semi-final, it ain’t all that bad, we’re still here having lost quite a few if we lose we will be there again in another next year.

Gonna fucking love tomorrow, can’t fucking wait!

(This is the first time I have seen this view of the disallowed VAR goal celebration-non-celebration-celebration, beautiful).

Oh What A Night, Watching Tottenham On A Tuesday Night!

They've got nothing to lose

Beat us? Historic achievement. A Champions League final.

Lose to us? Great achievement getting to a semi final on their budget

They will keep coming at us tomorrow. We just need to aim to stifle them. A win would be great for us but a cleansheet is ALOT more important.

Luckily for us, we seem to actually be set up rather well in Europe. (City away aside), no idea why. Madrid, Dortmund (four times), Inter over the last few years has seen us put in some brilliant defensive performances.

Would take a 0-0 in all honesty.
I see it as potentially being like Dortmund at home (and away, I suppose) with them just happy to attack us.

Downside is we have no Son in the first leg, but the upside is that (on paper) you'd generally rate Dortmund higher than Ajax.

Hopefully, the message to our players is to prioritise not conceding above anything else. Chances on the counter should come throughout the game and we'd better pray that Lucas is in a Huddersfield kinda mood.

Poch should stick Dele on DeJong just like he did on Jorghino against Chelsea in the 3-1 win at Wembley earlier this season

This is what Dele said after that match

We knew Jorginho is a big part of them playing out from the back and dominating possession. He’s obviously a very good player and likes getting on the ball.
“We thought that if we could stop that — and we wanted to win the ball up high — so I wanted to be as close to him as possible to make sure that we did win the ball up high, break early and create the chances we did.”

Can't remember a harder game to predict. Winning or losing 4-0 wouldn't surprise me. I don't know if they're 1970 Brazil or Barnet on a lucky cup run.

If we lose 4 nil when we haven't to anyone for a while I will be going into hibernation.

This season we have learnt or been forced to be a bit more conservative in our play. I expect that approach tomorrow.

How we use Sissoko if fit is important and in part with an eye on Saturday, where I think both Wanyama and Dier will play against Bournemouth.

The key is a lead tomorrow and a clean sheet but it isn't the be all and end all as long as we are ahead.

Then for the return it's how we get a hopefully fit Son and maybe Winks into a more attacking pose if needed.

That's a very good shout.

The only downside is that we might need Dele further up the pitch to contribute to our attack.

Given how Eriksen tries but tackles like a sieve, I'd rather see Dele put on De Jong in a central midfield position with Eriksen in attacking midfield.

After our last couple of appearances, you could say that I'm not too optimistic about this one. We tend to show up when we need to and in big games though, so I'm hoping for the best.

If Sissoko can make it back I will feel better. If we had Winks at least I'd be way better than that. Here's hoping for the best!

Amazing how the Evening Standard turn Antonio's we got "behind their full-backs" ( partly because of our indiscipline) to this vulnerable Spurs side.

They are within their rights of course to talk about lack of midfield options but unless they forgot we are a London club who are ahead of the tean that beat us on Saturday and all the other London clubs in the Premier League.

Honestly fcuking cheek.
