Not perfect, but so much better.

Chuffed for Johnson and Solanke particularly. Maddison and Bents were excellent. VDV continues to be the terminator.

Someone needs to get Vicario on the decaf though. He’s a fantastic keeper, but needs to stop trying to do stupid stuff and calm down.

That doesn't mean my overall opinion on him has changed but I would like for us to kick on from here because it benefits us all if it does work out and he does adapt.

I also agree about what you're saying in regards to possession based football and the "goldilocks zone" that is certainly a thing and conceding possession sometimes can be massively beneficial to creating space behind the opposition.

The 3rd goal summed up our attitude today, tackle, get possesion, quick through ball, Son passes across, goal. In previous weeks we would have gone sideways or somehow contrived a way to get the ball back to Vicario. The purpose we played with today makes the possesion stats meaningless, it looked and felt dominant.
 
Enjoyed the game, good performance with what looks like a few adjustments to our last few games where we made more of an effort to push midfielders into the half spaces between full backs and defenders. Maddison turning up in a big way also goes a long way for us.

Still a concerning lack of cutting edge when getting into advanced positions and a lot of the same dangerous positions afforded to Brentford forwards, but it's seemingly expected with the way we play. Just need to continue to improve on our finishing chances/decision making and we will be getting closer to where we need to be.
 
Much more reassuring in Ange after today, we can enjoy this win, very good performance.

Still some nervy moments in defence.

We need to back this up with more wins before I put the pitchforks away. But for now, I'm going to open a bottle of wine and enjoy it.

It's embarrassing really how many people don't know the rules of the sport they love and get paid to talk about regarding the vicario incident.
