I've been led to believe he has what it takes as I see discussions on it every week...or at least he will perform better there. Many have suggested his stats are better centrally...I'd say they'd be hard-pressed not to be considering how ineffectual he's been on the wing. On the flipside; if he is still struggling with his injury then Gio should start instead now he's fit again.
But he seems to often make a better impact when coming on as a sub than when starting games, which is the point I was making. I'm not really sure what part of my post could be seen as contradictory. Brennan hasn't always looked particularly good when he has started games.
