Fans obsession with the academy is baffling.
Hardly anyone's academy is churning out anything other than lower league players.
Don't know about you, but most of us enjoy seeing Academy players make the first team. It's part of why King and Kane are so loved and Cuntbell is hated for the betrayal.

Yes, most end up in lower teams and leagues, that's normal.

But sell a Harry Winks for £10m every year or two and it's self-funding anyway.

King and Kane are the only players I can recall in my 30 years as a fan actually being good for the team.
All the rest, if anything, played too many games for us, held us back, and didn't even make that much money.
The £10m we got for Winks goes nowhere near to compensate for the years of abject performances we saw from him.
Maybe the league cup needs a rule change whereby a % of the team needs to be club trained. At least then everyone is on the same page and fighting on an even keel.

A lot of fans have blamed a lot of our coaches over the years for not playing the "yoof"
Has it ever occurred to the average Dave or Paul, that nearly got scouted once, that the coaches know there's fuck all in the academy worth picking.

I'm yet to read anything about Spurs you don't hate 😂

There's been several other worthy squad players in that time.
Barmby, Ian Walker, Townsend, Livermore, Walker-Peters, Skipp etc etc.

The fact that most now move on is more a sign that Spurs are more successful than most clubs and need to sign a higher calibre of player to compete. Doesn't diminish the value of the academy.

Steve Carr, Nick Barmby and dare i say Judas.

Wasn't it Keown that stated on TalkSport that during his career Spurs' seasons were always about trying to stop Woolwich winning?

Our season has become exactly what he said.
