Really glad to see Son training in the gym alongside other Spurs players having tested negative a couple of times since returning from South Korea camp in Austria where more than 8 players and staff tested positive.

Nerves starting to hit now.

Just keep thinking about how poor we have been from set pieces and the fact they have de Bruyne taking theirs. The fact that they can turn it on at some point and it'd be just like us for them to turn it on against us. Thinking back to the home game last season where they absolutely battered us but we rode the storm, they went down to 10 men and we then stole it 2-0 and thinking we just aren't going to get that lucky...
Man City don't generally generate a lot of set piece shots though (15th in the league this season 2.7 per game). One thing to also keep in mind is we should have a big size advantage over them too which should help with defending set pieces.

I am personally far more worried about our CBs being not quick enough and giving away a penalty.

Frankly though, I think they will struggle to break us down and we should have success on the counter.

You're not wrong - but de Bruyne's final ball will always cause problems. We tend to be the masters of our own downfall when it comes to conceding from set pieces.

Hojbjerg is going to need the game of his life out there too.

I think Hojbjerg's marching orders will be to kick de Bruyne all over the pitch and basically try and shut him down like what he did vs. Bruno and United. If he's successful then I like our chances even more.

From what I've seen of City so far this season, none of their attackers (even de Bruyne) have really been on form. de Bruyne is always a threat and have been good so far just not other worldly. I haven't seen a ton from Sterling, Torres, Bernardo, etc.

They are struggling to adapt their attack without Silva.

Instruct Hojbjerg to keep all over de Bruyne like a rash and Sissoko to sniff out any loose balls that fall in the centre of the park (as well as helping out our full back with Sterling).

And allow Kane, Son and attacker #3 to give them something to deal with. One of Uniteds biggest problems (besides 10 men) were that their wingers weren't helping out defensively leaving the full backs isolated. Sterling and Torres will be busy boys.

If we win today, we are winning the league.

If we lose today, we are winning the league but with 3 less points than if we won today.

good job GIF

Results have been good but I am not convinced we are that much better as a team than we were last season

Hoijberg has made a difference but our midfield balance still seems off and i think that will show today

That was some circus horror we had to endure and luck out really full credits to the Korea Football Association dumb fuck management

I’d swap roles for siss and PEH. Tell sissoko to make sure KDB can smell his breath and PEH to do the intercepting which he is better at. Siss ain’t gonna offer much attacking wise so may as utilise him to nullify their most creative player. We need to show them no respect which we have a tendency to do even against lesser teams. Press from the front especially their two CMs. Don’t jump in with tackles but stay on your feet and just get close to them so that can’t get into a rythem and start knocking the ball around.

We have Hoijberg, Reggie instead of Rose, Kane has 10 assists already and playing ligjts out with Son. Not much better?

With Lamela, Doherty and Winks out and Lo Celso only just back from S America there is only 1 position where a decision is needed. Bale, Moura or Bergwijn. Bale has not done enough in my opinion to start and I would play Moura. Much better for Bale to come on knowing he can run all out for say 30 mins than have to pace himself over 90 mins. The team could have had more players out and this result will be tight and I cannot really predict the outcome.

It's more the way we play and approach games that I dont think has changed/improved much

We have had Kane and son playing out of their skin and winning us matches , there have definitely been spells of really nice play and some improvement but it never seems to last for a full 90 mins barring the utd match

I wouldn't mind starting Lucas and telling him to run his socks off for 65 minutes and play primarily as a defensive winger. Then you bring on Bale for 25 minutes to run at a tired City defense to try and nab a goal.
