Match Tottenham Hotspur v. Manchester United - F.A. Cup Semi-Final

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think it made them look a little TOO keen to 'appear' well supported... y'know, like the Arse do with THEIR giant flag waving twats!
Flags don't make a noise... FANS do! And apart from their two soppy and fucking annoying goals, ALL the noise was from our end!
(anyway... I lobbed some ticker-tape from over the top tier onto you lot below... what MORE do you want??)
...and remind me how the fuck you get into a ground these days with pyros?? Did they have them tucked into their pants?

In the haze of spunk and plaudits 'master tactitian Jose' is getting today, I'm surprised no one has pointed out that he was intent on killing the game from the moment they equalised... the fact THAT goal was started with a blatant hand-off on Dembele from Pogba was conveniently ignored, but only added to the snidey little off the ball fouls, CONSTANT shirt pulling and time wasting tactics they employed...

But whenever we dared to 'bite back' Utd would merely play it for all it was worth, roll to the floor like assasination victims and waste countless more minutes... 5 mins of injury time barely covered ONE of their subs... it was disgusting to witness.

No surprise that all 3 subs were players at the OPPOSITE side of the pitch. (Though it felt like they'd made about 5 subs!!)
If they wanna improve the game, and VAR etc.. why not hook up the REF'S watch to the scoreboard, alongside the ACTUAL time... THEN we'd see how many times it is stopped for breaks in play... and have a better idea of how much TRUE injury time there Should be.... I'd guess at 7-8 minutes yesterday!

Jose is killing the modern game with his win at all costs mentality.
Yes, he may be a 'serial winner'... but he's sold his soul to the dark arts of 'tactics' a long time ago...

He gets away with it cos most of the media secretly fancy him... but you just KNOW if we Applied the same approach, we'd be labelled dirty, Poch would be a cynical Argie... and we'd still be refilled!
Dele has been labelled a cheat pretty much all season, even Kane is getting goal now...
Look at the 'Battle of Stamford Bridge' a few years ago... it's the ONLY time I've seen a real nasty streak in us, and we were absolutely slaughtered for it. (Agreed, we did it in plain sight, which was stupid and naive) far better to do that kinda shot when no one is looking!
THAT'S what Jose clearly preaches... and sadly for football... it works.
Aye and just like Wenger and "didn't see the incident" when in his favour,Mourinho spits the dummy out when teams do the time wasting play acting against him it's no fair he cries refs should be watching this blah, blah fuck off! Yes it's fecking annoying watching Madrid,Barcelona,Juventus they all do it and get away with it would interesting to find out how much football was played yesterday actually time spent kicking a ball you'd be safe in saying you were short changed by at least 15 mins?

Finally braved up and watched highlights. Was sure in the stadium yesterday that Lukaku used his arm in Sanchez back for the 2nd goal. The replay from behind the goal really proves it.

Not making excuses as we were poor. However had the shoe been on the other foot the United players would of definitely pressured the ref into going to var. We’re too kind and two accepting when we concede a goal.

Hard to see but dembele's choice to turn back into the player on his back was baffling as he is the master of using his body to protect the ball. Had he got tackled facing away from goal at worst its a throw in.

Was less pissed off after last year. When 3-2 down we at least fucking tried and lost another goal. Just frustrating and disappointed that we just accepted it this time. 5 mins added time announced and our fans were lifted but the urgency from players didn't. We just saw out a 2-1 defeat almost to keep the score down.

Maybe we just aren't good enough?

We have too many players who simply aren't good enough (who we tend to overrate, let's be honest) to consistently win honours and too many players who switch the form button on and off.

If we are happy to compete with qualifying for Champions League then we are probably fine. It'll get harder though because Chelsea will be better next season and so will Woolwich.

If we want to win things and compete in all competitions then we need better players. Simple as that.
At this moment we simple are post 2005 woolwich.

I am not going to torture myself reading this thread through so apologies if any there is any repetition.
Dont think a defeat has ever hit me so hard after restless night ive watched the game back this morning and really wish i had not bothered- bossed the first 20 minutes and looked in total control. What was dembele up to at the time i thought he was simply outmuscled by pogba but when he had options to carry the ball forward or pass he turns back and tries to go past pogba!!!! Davies did not cover himself in glory either in not tracking sanchez- both dembele and davies should have both done better with the second goal as well.
Biggest disappointment was the lack of a threat after going behind we never looked remotely like drawing level!
Just want the season to end now - 3 more trips to wembley and good riddance to place.

This was down to Poch - the players were on it first half (he got it right) and Utd were second best for 25 mins. The second half they looked lost. Poch is the puppet master and like JM should make changes that influence the game. He failed to do that IMO. JM on the other hand changed things to nullify our game and it worked.
You can't compare JM with Poch, though I don't like him.

Yep, sums it up nicely. Still deflated and the loss has tarnished the remaining games for me. The lack of fightback was unacceptable - should've thrown everything at them but with the exception of Eriksson they looked half-arsed. Didn't even register a shot on target and, as for Dembele, of all people what a crazy decision turning back into trouble. Fuck Wembley and, quite frankly the way I feel now, football can go fuck itself for a few days too.

So poch put his personal agenda ahead of what was best for the team. I understand the need to play jan and sanchez together more but there was a one off important game to win.
I think it goes further than that, may even involves club hierarchy. The best defender in the PL will not after an injury become an obsolete bench player suddenly.
I think Sanchez who is an excellent defender does show nerves in big matches (mancity, juve and fa cup semi) where Toby would have helped the team much more.
Don't forget we had same scenario with Walker and seems having same with Rose. Wrong. Let them benefit the team even if they are leaving in the summer. I can't see any point of dropping best players. Narrow minded negative costing the team results.
